thank you for sharing your parking lot with the folsom trails girl scout service unit! because of you we had a fantastic “troop or treat”!
Nice people and active Church. The Christian Youth Theatre is amazing, better than the pro shows downtown. Must go.
Been getting to know the staff and people for the past year and feel we finally found a church to which we can comfortably invite anyone. I don’t think anyone will feel judged, not cool enough, not good enough, or not fancy enough.
Ideal for spiritual seekers who don’t want to feel preached at, but rather, encouraged to keep seeking in a gentle community of support. Ideal for evangelicals who have been alienated by church abuse, Hypocrisy, political right wing uniformity, or dogmatic black-and-white thinking which leaves no room open for the mystery of the God of the Bible. Ideal for church goers who never felt they could quite fit in to the church “social club” or never really wanted to.
This church is one in a thousand. I know, because I have visited about 1000! This church does a well organized summer arts camp instead of a VBS, but with similar goals. There are revolving art exhibits in the foyer, and creative arts classes offered.
There are no “worship superstars,” just some really talented and humble rotated musicians. Of course there’s a choir, and good programs for the kids. The pastor is insightful, intelligent, and articulate… Yet amazingly down to earth, humble, and transparent from the pulpit and in person. You’ll get the feeling that we are all in this “striving toward godliness and realness” together. This church expresses in action a concern for the poor and marginalized.
A more 'real' church doesn't exist. From the hospitality, the sense of genuine community, and the vulnerability that flows from the pulpit to the congregants, I've never experienced a church that feels like Oak Hills. If you're local and looking for not only a church, but a family, check out Oak Hills.
This is a church where the people care for one another and the pastors speak from their hearts and the Holy Spirit is always present. You'll never be judged, asked to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, or feel out of place here. There are plenty of opportunities weekly to get to know people and to participate or volunteer for activities that benefit the community, the church itself, or your soul.
