“A beautiful park with its landscaping and views, a great welcoming park for visitors to Big Bear Lake on their entrance into our wonderful lake and valley.”

“A very nice park, very clean. Probably a good place for a picnic. Decent but not the best view of the lake. Parking was easy. There were bathrooms here. There was a nice wooden bear statue to take a picture with. There was a path leading down to the lake so you had access to the water.”

“We Enjoyed the in-room jacuzzi, fireplace and warm wooden interior of the cabin. The kitchenette was an added bonus. Everything was sparkling clean. Very pleasant front desk service. GREAT mid-week prices!”

“So this is our 3rd time attending Camp Tanda and it’s been easy, affordable and fun for our teens. The facilities are spacious, warm (in the fall and winter) and it’s enclosed so the youth can roam around freely. The staff is amazing, anything we need they accommodate. Milene is amazing and always helpful with accommodations. We’ve been able to save so much money by bringing our own cooks and using the camps industrial kitchen. I definitely recommend Camp Tanda to anyone who’s interested in a weekend or week long retreat!”

“Amazing little zoo!! Didn't expect a whole lot going in and boy was I wrong. This intimate little zoo allowed us to see these animals way closer than expected! Went on a weekday, so it wasn't very busy. All of the exhibits were great, but the bear exhibits truly stood out. I have never been able to get that close to a bear before. It was truly magnificent. The thing that puts this zoo ahead of all others I have been to is how closely all of the animals can be viewed. Also my first time seeing a snow leopard. Definitely recommend!”

“Liked it so much here that I extended my stay to 2 nights. Awesome staff. Cuddly Bernese mountain dog (yogi). Taco Tuesday’s hosted by the hostel. Hot tub, game room, kitchen, porch & great room areas are perfect spaces for meeting new people &/or hanging out in groups. Free coffee + breakfast (fruit & ingredients for waffles or pancakes). $2.50 laundry. Exceptionally clean and fun hostel with great vibes”

“I love this park, we often go here to sit in the grass and eat. There are tons of birds so it's a lovely place to sit and feed them birdseed.”

“Nice place to visit at the park. The parking place is okay but they need more parking. Great place to visit. Great location of the lake next to the highway. The restrooms there are free. It's free to go there. Great place to hike. The water was low on the lake this year.👍👌”

“Parking and the lack of a crosswalk are the hardest things about the trail. crossing the highway is a little like playing Russian roulette as some of the cars travel quite fast with a difficult turn to see around . About the hike itself: the initial assent is difficult with some nice views of Big Bear lake. However the real pleasure is not going to Castle Rock but beyond. At the top of the castle rock trail (where it meats one of the 4x4 roads) after a short 1.5 mile hike you get to a pristine meadow and small little protected pond. Beautiful and incredibly relaxing. However it isn't for the faint if heart as the trail is steep in the begining.”
