“Dr. Kim is one of the most caring doctors I have ever met. I have a genetic condition that is not well known and not adequately treated in Southern California. Very few doctors know how to treat it and luckily Dr. Kim is one of them. I first met Dr. Kim while I was working as a nurse case manager and had referred several patients to him to get assistance with their pain issues. He was very good to them. When I got sick and needed a pain management doctor, at first Dr. Kim would not see me since it would be a conflict of interest. It was not until I was medically retired and permanently disabled that I was able to see him. Dr. Kim has been wonderful trying to work with and trying to control my pain. The genetic condition I have is very painful and causes pain all the time. As a RN, I have seen a lot of pressure the insurance companies and the Government have placed on pain management providers and restricting how many pain pills patients can have and what a pain management doctor can do. Many times while I am in the middle of my appointment with Dr. Kim, he has to go and take a Doctor to Doctor call to argue to a treatment for his patient because an insurance company wants to deny a medication or a treatment. I don't mind this because I know I would want him to do this for me too. Dr. Kim is very kind, brilliant and caring physician and I am grateful that he did accept me as a patient after I was medically retired. If not, I don't think I would have had any relief. As for the gentleman that said that Dr. Kim was only in this for money, I have never seen that. I would recommend the he call the Office Manager and ask what was going on.”
