Merchant Endodontics

I was referred to Merchant Endodontics for my first root canal, and I was nervous. They immediately made me feel comfortable, and after the consultation, offered to do the procedure that same day, starting about 4:30-4:45. I was astonished that Dr. Merchant was willing to do that, but sure enough, he did. I was the last patient there. So I went from diagnosis at the dentist that morning to a finished root canal at the endodontist the same afternoon. Pain was minimal, and they were careful to make sure it stayed that way the entire time. Very little pain after the procedure.

This practice is extremely professional and worth every penny. Highly recommended!

This was my first time at Dr. Merchant’s practice having arrived through a referral by my dentist stating I needed a root canal. My dentist called Dr. Merchant’s office and they took me right in. After conducting preliminary tests it was confirmed I did need to have a root canal. To my surprise and extreme delight Dr. Merchant and his staff did the root canal right then, staying past 6pm to accommodate me. To anyone that has ever suffered with the pain from a bad tooth nerve, having someone relieve that pain is a godsend. Dr. Merchant and the entire staff were friendly, courteous and extremely professional. This was my first experience with this practice and I can’t say enough on how each and everyone one in the office was terrific.

Best experience ever for me and that’s after having had more than 10 root canals in my life. Dr. Jessica Roeber was exceptional in her ability to communicate about my options and then in the best client care while retreating a root canal. The previous endo some 12+ years earlier had missed a bifurcated root that got infected. I can’t say enough good things about the entire staff at Merchant Orthodontist. I’ll be referring family and friends!

I saw Dr Merchant as an emergency patient when I was in Carlsbad for my job for a week back in March. My tooth began flaring up early in the week and got so painful to the point that I could not wait until I returned home to Pittsburgh, PA at the end of the week. It had gotten to the point where I was using cold water every 5-10 minutes and that was the only thing that eased the pain. I initially saw a normal dentist, Dr Alfonso, who was located near the place I was working at for the week and stopped by to ask for help without an appointment. After getting X-rays and determining I needed an emergency root canal, she referred me over to Merchant Endodontics to get a 3D X-ray and have the root canal done that same day. They got me in quickly and the whole process was very smooth, getting me back to work by 3:30 that same day with no post root canal pain, and feeling better than I had all week. I was able to finish out my work week and get back home to Pittsburgh to get set up for the permanent crown. I am very thankful for Dr Merchant taking care of me so promptly when I was in serious pain, in a place very far from where I live. They had some really cool technology I hadn’t experienced at my home dentist, such as 3D X-rays and a camera that allowed me to watch them do the root canal. They also gave me a longer anesthetic that kept my tooth area numb until the next day so that I could still go out and enjoy my evening with coworkers. In addition, they were very friendly and personable, and I appreciated them explaining everything they were doing as it was happening. It’s not fun to have severe tooth pain thousands of miles from home, but they made me feel comfortable and I would highly recommend them, and will remember the help they gave me if I ever have a tooth issue out near Carlsbad again. Had a great experience with Dr. Merchant was nervous about doing a retreatment on my tooth that previously had undergone a root canal several years back. It wasn’t necessarily a routine procedure but the knowledge and experience along with the great team he has on board made it seem like routine procedure. Definitely would recommend to anyone considering this avenue of treatment.
