In the coastal view of Encinitas. This gorgeous seafood restaurant that's cozy and laid back perfect on a sunny SD day. The food is fresh and amazing and the staff are superb.
4.5 stars. This is a small restaurant with an upscale beach shack vibe. There is a patio and some seating inside and the back. You order at the counter and grab a table. Parking is along the street. I got the Baja spicy tuna tacos (their special) and my friend for the fish and chips. The food is delicious. My tacos were fresh, VERY filling and had a slight kick to it. I would've liked more of a kick, but that is ok. The fish and chips were also very good. The servers were very nice and even provided a little table fan for us to get rid of the flies. They have some beers on tap and canned kombucha.
This is a definite recommendation for people wanting to try fish. Parking may be an issue.
The food was decent. They certainly have good fish. French fries were also quite good. I felt the salmon tacos were a bit dry. Their poke was flavored perfectly. As for the burrito, it had too much rice and beans. The fish inside it was good but the bland rice and beans held it back. I suggest not getting a burrito here. I bet their fish and chips are amazing but I did not try them.
WOW, I am absolutely blown away. I've tried a lot of places on this strip and honestly this is the first time the hype was real. The fish and chips is some of the best I've ever had. I would have easily gotten full just from the two piece, but I splurged and got three. The prices are cheap for as much food as you get, it's insane. This is a family ran shop and it shows. The girl behind the counter was so nice and calm, I didn't feel rushed or stressed ordering. I highly recommend the Baja shrimp burrito, it was seriously some of the best food I've ever eaten. If you are anywhere close, don't pass up eating here.
A friend of mine (local to this shop) recommended this to me. Glad I made the time to stop because because it was awesome. If you want a feel for a Cali styled fish/seafood joint, this is it. We dined outside and had a great time. Fresh food and lots of flavor. The staff were polite, friendly, and full of recommendations. We tried the grilled Mahi, fish and chips, and Baja shrimp burrito. All were spot on.
