Excellent climb for a quick adventure and beautiful vista’s. I highly encourage others to try this peak out if you haven’t before.
Started from Paso Picacho campground and crossed 79 to get on the trail. Unique views of the surrounding mountains while navigating the switchbacks. The fencing on the trail adds admirable touch to the hike. Approximately 840 feet of climbing with a fun rock scramble at the top.
Breathtaking view at the peak.
Always been one of my favorite hikes. Bit of a rocky path, bring good hiking boots but the view up top is gorgeous and worth it!
Soo happy I went here. The view on top is breath taking. Picture can't do it justice. It a 1.8 mile to the top of the peak. You can also take a longer route too if you want. The easy route is nice and easy. During a hot day you'll be find because tree/brushers will cover you. Cuyamaca peak is close by, but for now it under construction so you can't go to the top until end of first week of August. Enjoy!!!!!
We decided to go hike at Stonewall Peak a few hours after the storm. Knowing that it might be some snows on the trails so we did came prepared. Turn out to be one of our best hikes in local area ever. We got almost a foot of snows the moment we put our feet on the ground. The calm after the storms made the place so beautiful !
As always, a wonderful shorter 2 mile hike to the top.. A bit steep in places, but easy for the avid hiker. The breeze and unobstructed view are worth the trek! Comfy shoes, water, sunscreen and maybe a snack or two would be wise 👍 Parking across the street for $10
