“I love old school diners and randomly found this spot on Google maps. Parking in the lot is limited, so we found a spot on the street. Our friendly server took our order of Seafood Omelet, with hash browns and sourdough toast, Country Scramble with a side of pancakes and 8 pc. Batter fried fish, with fries, coleslaw and a bowl of delicious clam chowder. 2 cups of coffee. My Seafood Omelet was ok, but my hashbrowns were way too crunchy. Good toast bread. My friend enjoyed her fish entree and had plenty of everything left, to take home for lunch. Her favorite was the delicious clam chowder. My daughter really like the pancakes (not pictured) and she said her Scramble was good. I would come back again, but probably try something different on the menu. All n All we enjoyed our breakfast and the portions are huge. Total bill w/o tip, $69”

“I got a brand new Supro Delta king 12 and right out of the box to my surprise the switch for power was on the bottom of the box. I needed my new amp fixed as soon as possible so I came to Top gear and they really took care of me it was a turnaround of only 1 day! And presto my amp was as good as new. I have found my go to repair shop now for my tube amps and my Telecaster. Great work at a very reasonable price! Thanks guys”

“This was the best high school in the area way back in 1981 when my family moved to La Mesa. My parents chose La Mesa because of Helix High School. I graduated in 1983. I loved my math teacher & geography teacher. I was involved in the choir as well as other activities. My best friend lived right across the street. Together with the football team, power puff football, swimming & the Moye twins, Helix was the best experiencing of my life.”

“I almost rated 1 star just so that people avoid coming here because this is my favorite location. The atmosphere is great and there aren't many people. Sometimes I end up being the only one at the location. The only downfall, which is a big one, is during the school year when Helix gets out they become extremely packed for around an hour to an hour and a half. They go well over the occupancy limit. Other than that, headphones aren't needed at this place.”
