“A pretty short hike through a slot canyon. The parking area is at the end of the road in a neighborhood. Very limited parking! The hike up to the slots was pretty but it's next to the freeway, so it kind of ruins the scenery, but not terribly. You'll still enjoy this little walk in nature. The actual slot canyon section is really short, it's only a small portion of the hike, the rest of the hike is out in the open on a pretty and very well marked trail. It does get really narrow once you're in the slots and there's one section where there's a ladder. It's really fun and easy to get through. I don't recommend putting your dog through that, unless you have a small doggy and you can carry them up. But, it's up to you. It is fun for the whole family, kids can easily do this hike. I did it on my way out of San Diego. It's right off the freeway so it was well worth the stop. Highly recommend.”

“Great park/beach. Well kept. Small parking lot but with a good sized turn around to drop off and collect your beach goers. Appreciated the outdoor shower and clean restrooms. Easy access to the wide flat beach. Great view of the ocean and easy to keep an eye out for the kids. Added plus, easy beach access made hauling the beach gear much easier.”

“A beautiful beach! Clean and fairly empty (on a Thursday afternoon). It's a nice quiet stretch of beach where it's fun to collect shells and beach rocks and watch the surfers.”

“Nice dirt and sand trail. Part of it is under construction so a few trails will be closed for a few years. You can access lagoon paths as well.”

“Great flat trail until you get to the slot canyon. The kids had lots of fun climbing up the canyon. We saw a sea snail on our walk back to the car.”

“Stunningly beautiful. Warning though it has a ladder you need to climb at one point. If you can climb up a ladder then this is a must see in your lifetime.”

“This is a fun and short hike. We started from the North Rios entrance and parked in the street The hike is short about 15 min to the start of Annie's Canyon. We took the difficult trail and it's not that hard. It has beautiful views of the canyons. My 12 yr old daughter had fun climbing the rocks. To get to the top you have to climb a short stairway. The hike on the canyon is short about 10 to 15 min to the top. The hike in between the rocks is a little tight but doable. Fun hike for adults and kids too.”

“Easy to find state beach off of the 101. State parks passes are accepted here. The parking lot is large but can fill up on hot weekend days. The beach gets pretty small at high tide. The beach has a couple of life guard towers. It seems to be a popular surfing spot but there is a designated swimming and body boarding area. There are bathrooms but they are located on the other side of the parking lot.”
