“Because of the atmoshere..the comradeship of the residents and the staff who each individually have also been addicted to heavy drugs and alchohol, I now have the support, the drive, the confidence, and most importantly my higher power going to bat for me so I can continue my spiritual gain and show others that there is hope and we can't do this alone but with each other we don't have to suffer any longer..THANK YOU CASA RAPHAEL!”

“You will be "floating" for 2 weeks. You will do Gordon Graham's Framework for Recovery and Living In Balance. You will get your SS/ID, Medical, and Vision and Dental worked on. HIV, TB, and Hep C testing is free. Section 8 housing too! Weight pile, pool, and guitars will help take the edge off. Smoking is allowed. No cellphones before Phase 2! This is an automatic exit! Food is on a regular schedule. Probation does visit. Allen, Christine, Jacob, Pedro, Bob, and Richard are the case managers. No more than $25 on your person. Drug testing is sent to a lab.... Graduation is held at Hope Church every 2 weeks. Phase 2&3 residents can leave property in evenings. Many local meetings nearby. 99 cent store runs phase 1. Lots of pastries! Rick Ryder is the maintenance guy, cool dude. DirecTV in rooms. Weekends curfew is extended. In short, the residents that are serious about this program have nothing to worry about. It is advised to "stay away from the stress box" (the phone), because outside worries and concerns will detract from focusing on the recovery process. Yes, you miss your wife, kids, family, guitar, etc. but this time is taken so you may improve yourself. Take advantage of all they have to offer. 12 residents are assigned to the Phase 1 team, and you will see them go out, make excusesm etc. DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY. WORRY ABOUT YOU. I have seen exited residents take others with them. Do not fall into this trap. Do not procrastinate on your writing assignments as some others do, and try not to complain about the Step Studies, other residents, finding a sponsor, etc. On Saturday Phase 1 residents go to the pool up the hill in the afternoon, which is like a spa! At Base there are 2 guitars, and it would be great to see more donated, as musical creativity eases stress and promotes recovery, if properly used in conjunction with ongoing spiritual maintenance. Every Thursday bible studies are brought around 3pm. Laundry in Phase 1 is provided free of charge, and Phase 2&3 residents will pay for their own laundry with a weekly stipend they receive. My advice here is have family do laundry, hygeine, and tobacco drop-off early, because not everyone has money, and there's nothing worse than an addict/alcoholic jonesing for a cigarette/vape hit! Stick together as a team. Miranda will help you up the hill to receive medication. Richard, the Phase 3 case manager, will help you get and keep employment. This program truly is a blessing to the world. And my last piece of advice: it all seems hard until you get to Phase 2, so spend these first 2 months engaging in the intensive recovery process, because you, if you so desire, can make this the best thing in your life!!!”
