“Our son started at L’Academy in San Mateo two months ago and he’s enjoying his time there! He talks about his teachers and friends all the time and looks forward to going to school (Although he still doesn’t like saying goodbye to mommy or daddy when he gets dropped off in the morning). I can tell the director Farina really cares about the kids, as she has gone above and beyond to help our son get acclimated to his first experience being at school. She also takes the time at the end of the day to give us updates on how his day went and even asks us (the parents) how we’re doing as she knows it’s a big transition for the adults too! The center uses a wonderful app that allows the staff to update us with notes about meals and potty, as well as when they went down for nap and photos of what they did throughout the day. We fell in love with it after our tour with the co-founder Helena. She was warm and welcoming, and took the time to answer all our questions. I appreciated the in-person tour and for allowing our son to play in the classroom when other schools only had virtual tour. Just prior to our son‘s first day, the director also set up a time for us to visit the school with our son again to get him acquainted with the classroom, his classmates and teachers. We appreciate the transparency that these visits provided, which ultimately helped us to decide to send our son here, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision! A few other bonus points: + Cleanliness, the school is brand new and only started enrolling students back in October 2021 + The teachers, Teacher Melissa and Teacher Wendy, speak excellent Mandarin, and introduce fun songs in Mandarin that my son remembers and sings all the time when he‘s at home + Excellent COVID protocol and weekly testing for the staff, children and families + A nut-free school, plus additional adjustments made to the menu to accommodate for our son’s multiple food allergies + Nutritious snacks and lunch provided + Flexible full-time/ part-time schedule + Helps with potty training but doesn’t require the child to be potty-trained to start In short, if you’re looking for a center that provides a stimulating program along with a language immersion experience for your child, I would highly recommend L’Academy!”

“Fast, fair prices, classic, simple Chinese food. The use of corn starch was a little heavy but not out of line. the lunch specials are a single entree and rice so we got a side dish of steamed vegetables. The salt and pepper pork was battered and this is not how I’m used to it but it tasted great. I’m not sure this dish would be as good as take out but as dine in and hot and crispy I really liked it. $30 for two for lunch.”

“I grad in 1979-80. I went back 20 yrs later as a T/A for spec.ed. Ms. Lackey was still there. I worked with Ms. San Gabriel and Dr.George. When I left had Mr Demelio as principal (later bacame Super.)and Mr Veronda as vice, (whom I heard was working with incarcerated young boys) The school was accredited then and im sure it only got better. It definitely had its share of derelict students, parents and a couple shady teachers but for the most part , it had some outstanding faculty that will always be remembered. We had Langstons in the 50's Turturici's in the 60's & Langstons again in the 70's. Love you Bayside❤aloha”

“Great selection and nice staff. I came in a couple of times with my two year daughter who was running around and making the entrance sensor go off (repeatedly)(!!). The staff was always nice and always very professional. At the time of my appointment the staff person that took care of me (can't remember her name) was super nice and helpful, she gave my daughter pens and paper to keep her entertained. I got my glasses in a week and I LOVE them!!! I will definitely be going back when I need to update my lenses!”

“So nice to have found this place, sure to return! The chicken was on point, the creams al gusto, the sides fresh, quality, and ample. The service so sweet, the atmosphere different and interesting. Fully recommend it, from someone who spent 2 weeks in LA going to 4 different 🇵🇪 Peruvian chicken places to be greeted by average food and service. The only thing I can recommend is to paint the walls inside. Gracias Al Carbon!🌈🇵🇪😘”

“The newer, outdoor part of the mall is lively and beautifully constructed with ample seating and the requisite fountain and sculptures. Plenty of fun food options with indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor part of the mall is more basic and forgettable with the same old stores you see at every mall across America. The food court, which is the anchor that connects the new mall and the old mall, is expansive and inviting with colorful varied seating and decent upscale fast food choices. Very clean and chill on a Saturday July afternoon.”

“It's small when compared to the big chain grocery store, but don't that fool you about what is sells. It has lot of Indian groceries, vegetables, dosa and idly batter, dairy items. The store people are nice and friendly. They help you out with any questions. If you have more items, they helped us with boxes and pack the groceries. They have points program that gives one point for every dollar spent. Pls join by enrolling. There are no messages from the store so that is purely for points and rewards on reaching certain points. I am happy that they give discount of five percent on new customer and also if you don't want to use the point system. Overall and nice store near the hills dale Mall. Bus 292 reaches right in front of the store. It's better to go by cab if you have lot of groceries to carry. The store is clean and well maintained. It has clean restrooms.”
