“Absolutely loved the food. Wanted to have a snack but ended up having a full meal by repeatedly ordering tacos. Great veggie taco, haven’t had such a good taco anywhere else in California. The only thing I’m sad about is not being able to find this food truck last 2 3 times I’ve tried looking for it.”

“Kobeya is a no frills, down to earth, amazing Japanese food spot. My favorite is the beef katsu curry. I would highly recommend checking it out.”

“Super friendly staff, quick turn around and when you order through the app, your coffee is ready on the counter with a handy receipt so you don’t pick up the wrong one by accident. They have a wide variety of Starbucks products you can buy for home use, with different themes by week. There is no outside seating, which makes this Starbucks limited IMHO. San Mateo has so many nice days to enjoy a coffee outside. Also limited parking available, and no drive through.”

“Lovely Italian restaurant! It was busier than usual from my friend's perspective, but we still had a great dining experience. Service was slower because every seat in the house was taken, we were offered a second bottle of champagne on the house as well as any dessert selection on the house because of our wait. That's excellent customer service! The food was perfection and presented beautifully. Will definitely return.”

“We had dinner here the other day. The food is very good. The staff are very friendly and nice, too. My son was having a bad day. He’s very tired, so he was causing a fuss. Then the staff set up the robot to carry a cup of water to my son. He was amazed and got interest in the robot right away. That is just nice.”

“The food was good & service was fast. Don't expect a fancy restaurant, it's more laid back with delicious food. They serve their tacos with homemade tortillas. Will definitely be back to try the beef/goat birria they serve on weekends.”

“This is a classic example of what happens when an owner takes his craft very seriously. Pizza has been done by countless people for hundreds of years and it tends to trend in the wrong direction. Cheaper, faster, and low quality. That's not how this man does pie. He took the time to find a real New Yorker, who knows the pizza game inside and out, flew him out and sat with him for a few weeks, to learn how to do everything from scratch. Fresh mozzarella, made in house. Absolutely beautiful idea and execution is exceptional and delicious. The whey that's left from making the cheese is turned into house made butter. He makes his own butter! I tried a scoop today and it's stunning. Very creamy, nice mouth feel, and perfectly salted with sea salt. The brick oven gets so hot during the day, that he can roast tomatoes in it overnight. Roasting like this reducers the acidity significantly and gives the tomato sauce that fresh, tangy tomato flavor that we allove so much! If you get a chance to come down here, do it. Do it tomorrow and then again the next day. Bring the baseball team or the soccer team and eat as many pizzas as you can handle. Supporting a locally owned business gets you points when you get to heaven. It also makes me feel good to know I can support this man and his passion. One pie at a time.”

“I’ve been here twice. First time I was caught off guard by how great the tacos and quesadilla birria were, as well as how friendly Gerardo was. Second time was to celebrate my mom’s birthday, where the whole family was similarly impressed. Felipe went out of his way to make sure we were accommodated and that her birthday was a special one. They’ve got a new regular customer, here.”

“Very friendly and generous owner. I couldn’t choose what kind of meat I wanted with my hummus order so she offered a taste of all of them! See photo. She kept offering more rice and sauce, it was like a home cooked meal! I found the lamb and chicken especially tasty.”

“Fast, fair prices, classic, simple Chinese food. The use of corn starch was a little heavy but not out of line. the lunch specials are a single entree and rice so we got a side dish of steamed vegetables. The salt and pepper pork was battered and this is not how I’m used to it but it tasted great. I’m not sure this dish would be as good as take out but as dine in and hot and crispy I really liked it. $30 for two for lunch.”

“So nice to have found this place, sure to return! The chicken was on point, the creams al gusto, the sides fresh, quality, and ample. The service so sweet, the atmosphere different and interesting. Fully recommend it, from someone who spent 2 weeks in LA going to 4 different 🇵🇪 Peruvian chicken places to be greeted by average food and service. The only thing I can recommend is to paint the walls inside. Gracias Al Carbon!🌈🇵🇪😘”

“This is a GREAT place to go for sushi! I've never been brave enough to try it until my fiancé took me here during their Grand Opening, and since he knew the owner, I felt obligated, in a way, to at least give this a shot. No regrets! We told the owner that it's my first try ever and he began asking me questions. From my answers he personalized a Poke bowl designed for my liking, and it was amazing!!! I totally trust and respect this man and his fresh food, so this is the ONLY place I've ever eaten sushi, and it's always top notch! Not to mention all of the other great things they have to offer, such as the Sake or the big TV to catch a game while you enjoy your meal with family or friends. And did I mention that this place is owned and operated with a small staff of his close family members? All the love just flows through from back to front of the place. It can't get much better than that!”

“I’ve been going here for years. Good restaurant. The staff are friendly. The food is tasty. The portions are good. I like the salmon teriyaki. The happy hour menu is reasonably priced. Although the salads used to have two tomato halves. Now they only have one.”

“I could talk about the service, or the various amazing sandwich options, or their proximity to San Mateo and walkable status. All of these things are great about Ike's. But I won't talk about that. I want to talk about feelings. That feeling of driving over the speed limit for the first time. Witnessing a baby seagull steal a piece of trash. Flipping the tongue of your shoe so it's flat against your foot after walking with it all folded wrong for a bit. These all pale in comparison to the emotional ride you're in for when the Matt Cain sandwich from Ike's slams into your tongue. The highs. The lows. Actually there aren't lows. It's all highs. Just higher and higher highs. Seriously. Get the Matt Cain.”

“Only giving five stars due to great customer service. BUT don't go at night. About 5 stalls are out. Will wait for 20 min until someone says something like "this stall is out of order".Move to the next and wait an additional 20 min until someone comes out to say "Drive through is open". Will now drive less time other location to get order WAY FASTER.!!.NEEDS BETTER MANAGEMENT QUICK!!!!!!!!!!! Also could use a power wash on ground and less homeless people coming to my window knocking on window demanding money. Horrible experience.”

“The staff is super friendly, Management take notice! We were driving through from out of town and stopped in for a quick bite. We are vegetarian so I'm hoping someone from Taco bell can explain when substituting meat for plain refried beans why do you charge .70 cents for each item? Arent beans cheaper than meat??Is it me or is that crazy?! Bathrooms could have been cleaner, no tiolet seat covers, smelled of urine. However the seating area to eat at was small but well kept and friendly staff.”

“I don't normally leave reviews, but I just encountered one of the nicest, most cheerful subway employees. I didn't get his name and should have. Red hair with glasses. Very warm, Cheerful, happy and kind. Not something you get much of these days. It shouldn't be a shock but it is. Keep up the good work!”
