What a wonderful way to spend time with my friend. We walked the grounds, had lunch, visited the house and saw the short film. Best of all, Percy the peacock did a shimmy for us.

A wonderful gem in the Peninsula area. We went on a quiet weekday and enjoyed it a lot. Fans of the series Downton Abbey can appreciate the finer aspects of this house, in terms of its vast grounds, servants quarters, opulent halls.

Very beautiful gardens about 40 minutes drive from San Francisco or 30 minutes from San Jose. Not very crowded on a week days. Clean restrooms. Very nice staff. Gift shop.
Very inspiring place for artists and photographers.

For a mansion and a garden tour, the price is simply too expensive. I understand that perhaps I'm not taking advantage of the full value the site provides (as I don't have a full day to wander around the gardens) but I wouldn't return again if there weren't a special occasion or reason. Very informative on what early 20th century American luxury looked like so 4 stars for that.

What a magical place this is around the holidays. We managed to go on opening night for the festival of lights and I have to say it was incredibly impressive. The attention to detail in decorating was on par with the elegance of the house, it was all top notch.

Walk around and talk to people about the rich history and fun facts. Plus once you make your way to the shop, you'll want to take home a piece of this history.

Go during winter for the best experience.
