Outstanding place! Be sure you make a reservation in advance, unfortunately we called but no one ever answered. We decided to wait at the bar, we had a blast!
My friend and myself have wanted to try this place for years but schedules never allowed it. The stars finally aligned and we got a table to celebrate my birthday which turned out to be one of the best dinners I've ever been treated to.
We were surprised with complementary dishes such as a surprisingly delicious assortment of french fries. You never really think a french fry could be delectable but when you cook them well and you have good seasoning to go with it, there is no substitute.
We were also treated to some amazing Cacio e Pepe with truffle bread on the side which while a very simple dish, packed a punch with flavors that simply made you want to keep digging in. But knowing my steak was the main event, I let most of it go to my friend and her mom who were kind enough to bring me here.
But wait, we are not done! To wash it all down we were given a nice sampling of the Michael Mena champagne which went very well with the steak I ordered and left me feeling warm and fuzzy by the end of the night.
Which of course brings me to my main course, the American Wagyu Rib Cap. Knowing how prized these steaks can be, even if it's an American hybrid, I went with a medium temperature to preserve the tenderness. And boy was it a good decision. The steak was not a steak, it was a slice of heaven that burst with juices and melted in my mouth as I chewed as slow as I could to savor every bit of it. It was difficult to not simply devour the steak and leave all notions of propriety at the door.
At the end of the meal, they brought out what has to be the fanciest version of a s'more I've ever had the chance to try, with "Happy Birthday" scrawled in chocolate drizzle to cap off an amazing night. It was a light fluff of marshmallow with fudge and graham cracker crumble on the side. It isn't a normal menu item but I imagine if you come for your birthday, you will get to see what it's all about.
And last but certainly not least, the staff was very personable and always had our glasses full whether it be champagne or water, we were never wanting for anything. I highly recommend requesting Patrick and Jerome to be your hosts as they really made the night just that much better.
Normally I find staff at high end restaurants to be kind but very formal, here however the staff were very relaxed, very fun to talk to, and if you ever have a chance to come here during a 49er game day, I can almost guarantee you will want to do it again.
Almost miss the place to Bourbon Pub.
The rib eye steak is super delicious!!!! I ordered with Bourbon sauce, it’s just PERFECT you don’t need to add anything.
And they even gave free popcorn for “souvenir” ♥️
Everything here from start to finish was excellent. Who doesn’t love starting a meal with three different French fry pairings, all crispy and delicious!? The burrata with trout roe and maple syrup is unreal. Sounds like such a strange combination of ingredients but they work in perfect harmony... and spread over the toasted sourdough is just to die for! The filet I ordered was so tender, soft, and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed every bite. We shared the creamed spinach, the broccolini, and the truffle Mac (a MUST!) Ended with the beignets and chocolate mousse... both exquisite. Would return again and again. Pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for here.
