We stopped by for a quick bite before heading to the concert at Levi's Stadium, and it was the perfect choice. I tried the Fried Chicken Box, and it was fantastic. The hand-cut, panko-breaded chicken thighs were crispy outside and tender inside. The mix of salad, pickled carrots, cucumber, and sauces added great flavors. The chicken itself was impressively seasoned. Plus, it's super close to the stadium, making it an ideal spot for a meal before heading to an event.
*Highly recommended for concert-goers!
The best chicken rice I've ever had outside of Singapore.
This place has incredible chicken rice. On the kiosk, I ordered dark meat, with skin, with chicken broth, and a container of Singapore soy sauce. The chicken was perfectly poached. It was tender and just wonderful. The rice was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The broth was perfectly salted and tasted great; I had the whole cup all at once. The Singapore soy sauce seemed to be soy sauce diluted with chicken broth. I used about half the container. I appreciated the shredded carrots, sliced cucumbers, and cilantro on the side.
I also ordered some fried chicken skin, because I've never had it. It came in a wax paper bag and had a strong chicken-y smell. The skin was like pork rinds but chicken. For my drink, I had a can of coconut water. My total after tax, before tip was $23.98, which felt fair for what I got.
Here's why I'm taking a star off: I saw and heard two employees bullying a third employee for wearing a mask. There were two guys, one with a cap and one with a beard, and they continued to comment on a female employee who was wearing a mask.
I loved the food here. It brought a smile to my face. However, some of the employees need to grow up.
Inside is ok, could be better. I don't like small, noisy, crammed atmospheres. I am claustrophobic. In my opinion, rap music is not good for ANY establishment. However, the food, and service is EXCELLENT. Just would love a bigger space to eat inside.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chicken meets Rice restaurant in Santa Clara. It has quickly become one of my top two favorite chicken rice establishments, second only to the renowned Nong's Khao Man Gai in Portland.
Let's start with the star of the show: the chicken. The chicken at Chicken meets Rice was cooked to perfection. Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, each bite was a delightful experience. The chicken had a lovely balance of seasoning, and it was evident that great care went into its preparation. It certainly lived up to my expectations.
Moving on to the rice, it was executed well. The grains were fluffy and had a pleasant texture. They were cooked just right, neither too soft nor too firm. The fragrance of the rice was inviting, complementing the succulent chicken beautifully. It provided a satisfying base for the dish.
However, where Chicken meets Rice fell slightly short was in their sauces. While they were decent, they didn't quite reach the same level of excellence. The sauces lacked the wow factor that could have taken the overall experience to the next level. They were satisfactory but didn't leave a lasting impression.
Overall, my recent dining experience at Chicken meets Rice was enjoyable. The chicken was expertly cooked, and the rice provided a delightful accompaniment. While the sauces may not have wowed me, they were still acceptable. If they can elevate their sauce game, Chicken meets Rice has the potential to become an outstanding chicken rice destination.
I highly recommend giving Chicken meets Rice a try. The perfectly cooked chicken and flavorful rice are sure to satisfy your cravings.
