This is the most restorative yoga in Davis!! Every class I leave feeling connected to my body and breath because that is the emphasis in every class.
If you are looking to strengthen your practice and your connection to your mind body and soul, this is the place.
The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable about body alignment and leading through connecting to the breath. The flows are welcoming to all levels, which is very hard to do. Each pose allows for the freedom and time to connect.
This is a fantastic yoga studio. I’ve really enjoyed learning how to practice yoga here. I started going to this studio about once a week and now I go all the time, multiple times a week. They have a variety of classes that they offer every day and I always look forward to going to a yoga class at the end of my day, after work. Mei and Ildiko are experienced teachers and always welcoming and friendly. They’re the only teachers I’ve taken lessons from at this studio. I’d definitely recommend trying a class if you’re thinking about it! They offer a great deal for newcomers. Barefoot yoga studio is amazing! 😃
I have done yoga for many years and after over a year of not doing yoga I started going to barefoot yoga. It is warm, inviting and an excellent practice. Thank you to the yoga instructors and classmates! :)
I wanted to put out there that I’ve been attending Barefoot Yoga classes in Davis, CA., and I’ve really enjoyed the yoga classes taught by Mei, the owner. This is an unpaid and unsolicited review of her Vinyasa, gentle yoga, warm stretch, and yoga for neck and shoulders classes.
I took the neck and shoulder class today. I have arthritis in most places, especially my neck and spine and her instruction really helped me to release the tension in a way that I have been unable to achieve at home alone.
She’s also respectful of boundaries. On my first class she asked about limitations and if I wanted hands on adjustments in class. I said no and she has been respecting my boundary for no touch. (I hear other people enjoy her touch, but it’s just not for me right now).
The only critique I have is that her “warm stretch” class is a little bit more vigorous than what I would consider a warm stretch (more like a slightly lighter Vinyasa with slightly longer warm up and cool downs).
Please check out Barefoot Yoga. The studio is really clean. She has changing rooms, and a clean toilet area too. She has 2 week offers and also has other really reasonable membership plans and other flexible pricing options. There’s parking and bike racks and is easily accessible from most parts of town.
The studio is beautiful and relaxing. Mei genuinely cares about each one of her students. I have attended all her different classes as well as a private class and I always feel extremely comfortable and cared for. I can’t recommend her enough!
