“Designer Fabrics offers thorough high-quality work, an impressive selection of fabrics, access to high end suppliers to suite a range of budgets, and a talented design team and knowledgeable staff who take pride in their craft. Vicky, Nancy and their team have helped us with one sofa, one upholstered side chair, and about half a dozen cushions so far. They have many fabrics available by the yard in their boutique store, and access to about a zillion more from the many books of up-to-date options in their design area. Looking at fabric is my favorite part, and they have lots of well-organized sample books. They are always mindful of my budget and the way we'll use the furniture, i.e., stain resistance, durability, longevity and suitability to our lifestyle. This is a high end upholstery outfit, and if you can invest in giving your furniture a new lease on life, it is very worth the time they take to get it right. Here are some details about my jobs: 1) Complete reupholstery and cushion re-building for our 15 year old, cat-shredded and worn out Ethan Allen sofa in a striped red chenille. Note: I chose more expensive fabric than they originally recommended, so the cost was about 20% more than replacing the sofa, but it was worth it for re-using the piece with our choice of brand new upholstery and nice firm cushions. We expect to get another 20 years out of the sofa. 2) Complete reupholstery of a second-hand side dining chair in a happy hot pink textured fabric. 3) Two new 20-inch sofa pillows with self-piping and invisible zipper. 4) Three 26-inch pillows in distressed velvet to coordinate with an existing fabric in our home, also self-piped and zippered. 5) Two window seat cushions in a fabric I'm providing myself. (Actually I don't know if they'll do this for me but I will be asking them soon!) 6) In the near future, I will be visiting them to look at fabric for simple curtains for the kitchen, and I know they will do a great job.
