  Great trail system. Fun to take the kids and dogs. Also love mountain biking here when I just want a great fast loop without having to drive somewhere.

  This is an okay open space for mountain biking. It’s actually better suited for gravel bikes, which is really trendy now. But, it’s still pretty nice the northern loop is more fun than the southern loop.

  Wonderful trail system. Variable surface - mostly crushed gravel and sand/sandstone. We didn't encounter deep sand on the Juniper Loop. Mostly smooth trail with rolling hills and scenic outlooks. Picnic table and benches available along Juniper Loop (not sure about the other loop). Great for trail running, biking with kids. A single bike trailer would be challenging but doable for experienced riders.

  Great new open space in Douglas County. Was slated to become residential housing area and thankfully saved from that end by the purchase by Douglas County. Great vistas and awe inspiring cliff and rock formations. They have moved quickly to form paths for all trails that are open to bikes, hikers, and horse back riders. Definitely a place to visit often as it is within 45 minutes of most all of Douglas County and the major urban cities outside thereof.

  Today, I hiked the 3.2 mile Juniper Loop. It is a moderately difficult trail through open spaces, junipers, evergreens, and scrub oaks with spectacular views of the foothills and red rock and sandstone formations. The trail can be used for hiking, jogging, horseback riding, and mountain biking.
  UPDATE...
  Today, I hiked another trail: an out-and-back from the parking lot to the Sandstone Ranch Overlook -- probably a little over four miles. Like the Juniper Loop, this trail is suitable for hiking, jogging, horseback riding, and mountain biking. I learned from a open space volunteer that prior to Douglas County acquiring the property it was slated for housing development: five-acre lots geared for equestrians. The county continues to operate the ranch and runs the cattle that can be seen along portions of the trail. I am looking forward to hiking here during all four seasons.
