$7 entry for a guided tour is totally worth it. The docents were very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum is full of interesting antiques and the history gives you great perspective on how some women made it through life in Cripple Creek's early days.
Super interesting place! It’s set up just as it was back during its use. The guides take you through each room and tell you stories about the lives of women who worked and lived there. Not very time consuming but incredibly interesting and informative
This place is absolutely a fantastic piece of history to this gold mining town.
The ladies taking us through the tour were soo knowledgeable that the past came to life. Walking through the door, the 1800’s comes into frame. As they stated, many gold mine deals were discussed & closed within those walls.
Everything here is exquisite & a must see for any antique/history aficionados. Even the door hinges were handcrafted!
I was there on Saturday with my family and both of the women working were understanding (of my overheated and misbehaving children), kind, and so knowledgeable. There was so much information and so much to see. I had a blast and I’d really love to visit this museum again. It’s a beautiful time capsule. A gem up in the mountain. ❤️
We had an AMAZING time at the Old Homestead Museum! It was such a quirky and bizarre little place, and the history was fun to learn about.
This is the only former brothel I’ve ever been to, but it was charming. The tour takes about an hour and I think kids might get bored by the downstairs tour describing many of the original items from the home, but once the guides get into the story of the place more, it gets more fun. Definitely a cute stop worth my of a visit. Tickets are cheap!
