MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I’ve also seen some negative, and it’s a shame those people didn’t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don’t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.
Just want to say that I'm extremely grateful for mcca and all the ways that the staff members helped me out. So grateful to have my life back, free from the bondage of alcohol, and drugs. But a special shout out to Heather she is the best counselor I could have even imagined, Heather has such a special place in my heart and has motivated me in not just my recovery but also In my life. she is viciously determined to get her clients on the right path and all the people she comes into contact with. I have never seen a one woman army untill I met Heather. She truly is a leader. With great social skills .Heather will sit down in the middle of any day at any time no matter how busy she is ,and make you feel like your the only person in the world. I owe my recovery every ounce of effort due to the love this woman has poured into me and my life. Tomorrow I will wake up , and be two months clean!!! In a new town ,with two jobs, my rent paid up ,and Love In my heart again not just for myself but also for other because of Heather alone.heather is definitely #1 in my book.
My experience at McDonough House was the best experience I've ever had as far as intense inpatient. The counselors where God sent. Nicole, Heather, Wayne, Dawn, and Mike challenge you daily to help you identify the core problem that lies inside they help also with helping you identify the symptoms that occur weeks before you relapse physically. They were very loving and treat each client with love and kindness as if you were a family member... I love them all dearly Gina has done a amazing job in directing the program she has not only played a part in getting me there when death was knocking on my door, she set up a criteria that is amazingly effective.
The Techs Kendra, was like the mother of all Techs she will call you on your nonsense when needed while still attending to all your needs. Candra,Tammy, Nicole, and Doug was very kind and put the needs of the clients first. I love everyone there and truly believe that with what I learned and experienced there with hard work , I will have a long life of sobriety.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM!!!!!!
Great program- at one point of my 28 day stay- I thought of leaving a bad/ mediocre review. Based on ONE experience with ONE tech- I'm glad I didn't. I think McDonough house gets a bad rep in general- from vindictive clients.
Counselors and staff actually CARE here- that is a rare thing- from personal experience.
If only everyone left a review - who had a GOOD experience there! What a different # THAT would produce.
