This place really helps people!
I have lived in a (BCHA) home since 12/29/11 with my two teens. Now my son is 20 and my daughter is 17. There are rules to be followed but it's not horrible. You must work 30 hr a week or if you don't you have to do 8 hr of community service a month. There are exceptions to that such as being disabled by state, if you are over the age of 62 I believe, and a couple others things I can't recall at the moment. Your rent is income based and there are inspections. Every three years the inspections are more intense because HUD comes to visit and BCHA gets a lot of its funding through HUD so everything has to be {even more on point}. Overall BCHA homes are great place to raise a family, whether temporary or for years if need be. It can also be a nice place for disabled people to live as houses can be made to fit your needs per prescriptions from you doctors. For example if you don't use a wheelchair but have a condition that poses you to be a "fall risk" if your doctor writes a prescription that you need a ramp to enter your home then a ramp will be added.
Hey Nicole P. How long did it take you to get the help?
