“We got to Pine Island from Tree Tops Park. We entered with a sense of respect and solemnity, considering the history of the place. If you go from Tree Tops Park you’ll see a statue of Sam Jones who helped his fellow Seminole people escape. Instead, of you come in from the town that surrounds the Nature Preserve, you’ll find a larger statue of Lauderdale who was sent by Jackson to fight the Seminole. The wild part of the preserve meets a manicured area right about half way. What was going to be a golf course has been preserved, although not an island any more, for “the Everglades were drained to allow for human inhabitants”... Walk around with an open mind, and enjoy the berries, the firma, wild coffee and flowers. Try to get a sense of a place where so much has been going on for over 3000 years.”

“This was an incredible find. If you have time to spend here...DO IT! it was $20 to get in but worth every penny. They have many kinds of birds, a panther, a bear and of course flamingos. You can walk at your own pace, or take a 25 min tram tour. There is also an interactive wildlife adventure session. The flowers and plants are amazing and the entire grounds are well kept. There are snacks and smoothies available and a gift shop. They are only open from 9 to 5 and they close promptly at 5pm. Take the time to enjoy this treasure.”

“Absolutely LOVED this KOA! Our room was so neat! It had these bunk beds with a rock wall that the kids loved! The pool was well taken care of and warm, with beautiful palm trees in the background. My son loved the pond and the baby ducks. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and gave us plenty of help with restaurant choices and day trips to take. Would highly recommend this KOA.”

“This is a nicely built Scout Reservation with a variety of resources. Not much in the way of a swimming hole, and shade trees aren't enough to cover every campsite. Ask for campsite 3.”

“Beautiful park, "away from it all" yet so easy to get to. Lots of space for kids and grown ups to run and play tag, frisbee, soccer, football...a nice big fenced-in playground, a few picnic tables under a roof in the open air, restrooms that are always nice and clean, lots of parking, and even an enclosed area to trot your horse around. Great place for get togethers, or a peaceful getaway during your hectic lunch!”

“Rick was absolutely amazing, this venue is beautiful and between him and Willie they made sure to accommodate and help with anything that we needed. We even forgot my bouquet at the estate and they made me a stand in for the ceremony. They really went above and beyond what was expected. All of our guests had such an amazing time and the weather turned out beautifully. One great thing is you have up to 48 hours prior to the wedding to decide if you want to tent the main dining area, which is very beneficial for a Florida wedding. We went ahead and tented anyway with beautiful chandelier lighting just in case since the weather was going back and forth. Honestly the tent gave it more of a romantic ambiance for dinner which I really loved. At night with the fire pits, tiki torches and lights you really feel like you are in a tropical oasis. I highly recommend this venue, rick and willie as your DJ.”

“Shenandoah Park is a very nice and upcoming place. Every time I go there there is something new home being built or an area being renovated and it's always clean area and full of nice people. I always enjoy taking my children to this park thoroughly enjoy taking my token to this park because it is always nice and clean and up-to-date with all the new playground gear and accessories and the sidewalks are even clean and new and up-to-date. This park is never a trashy and or bad area I would recommend it highly to anyone who has children or any big adult kid who wants to go play and a family-friendly area that's nice safe and kept tidy.”
