I booked with the new stylist, Mitsie. She is welcoming, gentle, and professional. Honestly, I was apprehensive about going--so much so that I wanted to go through with a late cancellation and be penalized (there is a 50% service charge if you cancel with 24 hrs. of the service). Upon meeting Mitsie, my trepidation melted away. Such a lovely demeanor she has.

I had falsely assumed that I could pay extra for take-down and detangling services, but that wasn't the case. Once I realized this, I didn't have time to change or cancel the appointment. I had the arduous task of trying to "prep" my hair before going in when I needed that time to study and work. I take full responsibility for missing such details. (The information is available in the FAQ section of the website. Once you pay the deposit, a notification appears which reminds you to detangle your hair before coming in for your service). I've never been asked to prep my hair before a hair service that included washing and drying. It's incorporated into the service, or the option for the service appears when you are booking your appointment.

Lastly, be sure to email (I would not recommend calling based on my experience) the owner with any questions that you have. Though Mitsie was nothing short of amazing, I won't be returning since they don't offer the services that I need the most.

I would highly recommend Mitsie and the business overall. The shop was clean and in a nice area.

First of all what I liked is the fact that she had an early appointment. Next, as she's doing your hair she tells you the steps, so there's no surprises. She explains what shes doing. I didn't get the color I was aiming for but we got into that family. She didn't want to damage my curls by over processing to get the color i wanted. My next appointment we will work to get me there. I love that she cared about my curls and educated me on products that she used on it. I definitely recommend her for your hair needs.

This was an Amazing experience! The salon is spotless! Chevy is phenomenal and enthusiastic about her craft. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Chevy thoroughly explains each step, teaches you how to replicate at home and works WITH you.

Okay, can I just say that this was the best service for hair I’ve ever received?! No, not natural hair service, I’m talking hair period! Chevelle, or Chevy as she likes to go by, was soooo awesome! I booked with her for my birthday (this past Wednesday) for some well needed maintenance, and in the early morningtime! Although I came prepared with my own cup of coffee, Chevy was ready and willing to fix me a cup (how sweet)! For my appointment, I was in for a trim/cut, detox, wash.. basically the works, and that’s exactly what I received. I’ll be honest and say, I’m not much of a talker, especially in the morning but my time spent with Chevy felt like I had known her. She was so easy to talk to and definitely made it feel like a friend of mine was doing my hair instead of a complete stranger. Not only is she a sweetheart, she is very knowledgeable about natural hair. Definitely not just somebody who chose to dive into this, talk about different hair textures (the 3b-4s talk) and call it a day - she was very detailed and specific in her explanations. All in all, I really enjoyed my time and I have already booked my second session. It’s been a time finding a natural hairstylist in S. Fla, as i’ve been on the search for about two years but I really thank Abba myself and my hair found her! Lol
