“Perfect location to stay ! Less than 3 min walk to the beach and 5 minutes from general stores/restaurants . Renee was really nice and helpful, she made my fiancé and I feel so welcomed and comfortable. She even went to check our room and asked for cleaning corrections before we checked in to be sure everything was up to standards. My only complaint was our toilet kept running after you flush it . But other than that the bed was very comfortable, room clean . I would definitely stay here again!”

“Good restaurant. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes except for the shrimp and grits. I think the gravy was a bit overwhelming for my cousin. The scallops were DELICIOUS. Don't be fooled by the tomato caper sauce, which was literally a cherry tomato cut in half on top of the scallops and a lemon caper sauce. I almost didn't get it fearing the tomato sauce wouldn't fair well with the scallops but I was pleasantly surprised. My sister enjoyed her lobster mac and cheese. My cousin enjoyed her surf and turf ravioli and my other cousin enjoyed his tenderloin salad.”

“Very nice unit, great location. We rented this condo for our wedding. We got married on the beach, which was only about 50 yards away. It has a really nice pool, and hot tub. The appliances and furnishings in the apartment where really nice. We had a comfortable time the whole time, although they only gave us towels for two people. while we were there the air conditioning stopped working. They fixed it in less than a day. I would not mind renting from these people again. They seem to know what they're doing.”

“It was a 6-star experience for me. Not the typically money-maker-designed business but one which looks genuinely designed for the customers to spend quality-time. The entire staff was extremely friendly. The restaurant, restrooms included, was extremely clean. The food very good (except the fruit salad, my opinion, but okay... I'm in a good mood so... not resting stars here). Fairly priced! Bottom line, EL MAR CAFE is where you would find me if I lived in Lauderdale by the sea. Congrats guys!”

“Just got back from here and it was a very nice stay! Vivianne at the front desk was very accommodating and so nice! This is definitely an old motel that needs some work, but small things like new window screens and updated bathrooms, it seems like they might gradually be renovating rooms. Also, the price was very fair and made up for the little things. The furnishings were newer and the wood flooring looked very new. It was spacious with a livingroom, full kitchen and bedroom w plenty of closet space and an ironing board. There are also tables outside each room to sit at and a nice pool. It seemed like most of the motel was occupied by "snowbirds" staying for a month to a few months, and it seemed like they stay there every year and knew each other and were all very nice. Housekeeping was also very friendly, though I think you might need to request it if you want daily room service. They did ask us if we needed anything and we said no. I would describe this as a "beach bungalow" and it has a fantastic location in the center of Lauderdale by the sea, steps from the beach. Overall very happy with our stay and would return! Also it appears to be dog friendly!”

“I hate to give this little gem on the ocean 5 stars because I'd love to keep it my own little secret. But it is simply wonderful!! This family-owned paradise treats every guest and every employee like family. You can feel the love between the staff and the owners, it's a mutual respect. The ocean views are spectacular. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I slept great every night. The bathrooms are top-notch. The lobby and dining room have a perfect coastal touch. The pool is wonderful but honestly i spent the whole time on the ocean which is simply a feet away from the pool. This is my new go-to in Lauderdale by the Sea. Oh!! And the best part-THE RATES!! Unbeatable prices and it's less than 5 minutes to all the action. 5 stars and 5 ❤❤❤❤❤”
