“This is a great spot in the middle of the Everglades. RV Sites come only with electricity. You can refill potable water and use the dump station at the entrance of the camp site. There are no showers, only toilets, and they were not very clean… The sites are spacious and situated around a nice little lake. No alligators at the time we were there, but there can be. At night we enjoyed the thunder lighting shows. Bring some insect repellent though. Would stay here again because of the absolute stunning location!”

“Beautiful surroundings, quiet and idyllic. The scenery was beautiful, saw fish, turtles, lots of birds and a few sounds we thought may have been bigger mammals. The walk is perfect for those who want to experience nature without going too far. Park up and head for a wander. The light just before sunset was amazing.”

“All around great place to camp. The camp is very clean and well ordered. There is a campground host in site and the restrooms are large and clean. There is some road noise but it is easily mitigated by your site selection. Each RV site has a flat gravel pad, picnic table and fire pit. The cell reception is excellent.”

“I cannot begin to describe how awesome the swamp hike tour was. It was a unique experience and different than any land hike because you are truely connected with the swamp and all it's beauty. Scott was my tour guide and he helped explain all of the history and nature that I was surrounded in which disconnects you from an ubran, developed environment to a totally natural one. I brought my camera and there was so much to take in and I captured some great scenes to keep as memories until I return to do the hike again.. as I plan to.”

“One of the most unique and beautiful places in the USA. I would love to fly out there! The Popenhager Camp and Romor Ranch Airport are one in the same. I fly a lot but miss the little planes where I can see everything.”

“Nice visitor center. Had books for sale. (I finally bought a Passport book for stamps at the various National Parks) Drinks, toys for the kids, maps, etc. books on Florida and the Everglades Clean restrooms, some picnic tables, big parking lot. The man inside was very friendly and helpful. Saw an alligator (the one pictured below) while walking on the board walk. He was just hanging out waiting for someone to be pushed in”

“His large format, black and white photos of pristine Florida are amazing to see in person. His gallery is located in the Big Cypress Preserve. They host swamp walks behind the property.”

“I have to laugh at the reviews here, obviously for the Miami international airport, this is a mostly abandoned runway for an airport started back in the late 60’s in anticipation of supersonic jet transport such as the Boeing 2707, this runway is a training runway and has no services, no terminal and no parking.”
