What a beautiful day we had visiting the museum & walking the mile long boardwalk. From the warm & friendly greeting (hi Anita!)
to the beautiful museum, this is a trip worth taking.
Great little museum on the Seminole tribe and their history. Although very small, they did have a really cool boardwalk in the back that leads through the beautiful peaceful trees of the everglades. We were also lucky enough to experience a live festival on site where they displayed their art and dancing. Staff were very polite and friendly.
Very informative museum with lots of art made by its local on display. From education regarding it's traditional dances to videos describing mythological tales, it was definitely worth the visit. It also rained really bad so I didn't get to go down the boardwalk this visit.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum, which translates to "A place to learn, a place to remember." It encapsulates the museum's mission of education and remembrance, serving as a space where visitors can deepen their knowledge and appreciation of the Seminole Tribe's heritage.
Located on the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation in Florida, this museum is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
Upon entering the museum, I was immediately struck by the beautifully designed architecture, which seamlessly blended with the natural surroundings. The exhibits inside were thoughtfully curated, offering a comprehensive glimpse into the history, traditions, and contemporary life of the Seminole Tribe.
One of the highlights of my visit was the outdoor boardwalk trail, which winds through the cypress dome and allows visitors to explore the natural environment.
The staff at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing their culture and history. They were readily available to answer questions and provide further context, enhancing the overall experience.
The Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is a gem that beautifully showcases the vibrant history and culture of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Whether you have a deep interest in indigenous cultures or simply want to learn something new, this museum offers an enriching experience that is both educational and inspiring. 💫 ✨️
🛍 🎁 Furthermore, I was delighted to discover that the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum boasts an impressive gift shop, offering a wide array of distinctive gifts and travel mementos. From exquisite jewelry pieces to adorable animal figurines and intricately crafted dream catchers, the gift shop truly captivated my attention. It serves as an excellent opportunity to not only find a special keepsake but also contribute to supporting this local business and the invaluable work of the museum.
Beautiful museum, I love seeing the cultural history of such strong people. The nature walk outside is so peaceful, the greenery is just so refreshing to look at. You can truly feel the magic in that walk. They also have a cute gift show area where you can buy artwork and very cute authentic things. You are not allowed to record or take pictures inside, please respect their wishes. There are multiple signs posted up stating this as well.
