I was recently arrested in Tavares so this may seem strange, but I gotta say. The Tavares PD and Lake County Sheriff's Office are excellent officers who don't take sides, make you feel belittled, or insult you as long as you comply and show them courtesy and respect. Not happy about being arrested but I gotta say. I'm proud to have the Officers we do in this community. I salute you all. I apologize for my wrong doing, and wasting valuable time of officers dedicated to saving lives, and keeping the peace. Thanks for not making me feel like garbage and showing me the respect I showed you as well. God bless you guys.

I am a NASA engineer from Virginia and am currently in the Tavares area....I had the opportunity to meet with Tavares and Lakeland county police recently.... I found the officers to be courteous, kind and attentive to the situation at hand..... People need to understand that law enforcement is a very dangerous profession.... traffic stops, domestics, etc...they have to be ready for the worst...any first responder should be trained for the worse case scenario....moreover, they are human beings like anyone else with ups and downs... but they have to put their lives and feelings on hold for each shift they are dealing with yours.....work with and respect them and they will work and respect you....good work guys...stay safe
