One of my favorite places on earth
Always a great experience. There are many beautiful native plants. I love 4 Creeks
Very nice state park.beautiful trails.
Totally enchanting as you can feel the native spirits here, the only problem is that it is easy to get turned around and lost due to lack of enough signs on the road. There are not alot of trails, but there are 3 nice kayak launches (if you can find them! lol!).
Interesting day. It started off with the area designated specifically for hiking, Wood Shingle Mill Trailhead, being completely impassable. It was/is overgrown to the point of not being able to be enjoyed after about 100 feet. It needs to be cleaned up to be hiked. However, about 2 miles down the road at Four Creeks Road is an absolute joy of a hike. I took a chance to drive down to this area of the forest and I was rewarded with a pretty easy hike on nearly paved forest roads with a lot of birds and a few deer. I was able to get off the main road and explore some really nice areas. And the big pay off was the absolutely gorgeous walk to Boggy Creek. The view here is spectacular and it is Florida at her best. The time I spent at the creek made the start of the day forgettable. I'm glad that the WSMT was a bust and I went down the road instead!
