What a wonderful little Inn. It is absolutely a pleasure staying here. Right on the waterfront with beach access, parking is included, and breakfast included. Staff was friendly, rooms clean, and conveniently located on the island.
Very clean hotel steps to the water. Front desk staff was friendly. Cute restaurant called the Sandbar located next door. Room was simple and very clean...felt homey. Covered parking. I'd definitely stay here again. Minutes to Fernandina Beach shops.
We just got home from a 2 night stay here and the location is everything. We enjoyed being right on the beach, and the service was outstanding. Breakfast was also very good.
However, for over $360 a night the room was very very tiny and outdated. It was clean, but old, and again, by far the smallest room I have every stayed in. We had the sunset parlor which overlooked the street with a balcony. For the two of us for two days, it was fine but I would not recommend staying in the sunset parlor for more than a few nights with maximum two people.
Seaside Amelia Inn had its positives and negatives. First let's talk about the positives. The location is amazing, with a Restaurant on the property that has great beach food and drinks. The staff were friendly to interact with and seemed to genuinely want to help you. Their breakfast is an above average hotel breakfast. Honestly while there were issues, it wasn't a bad experience.
Now the negatives. The rooms are not cleaned at all until you check out. The rooms are clean when you arrive and the staff was obviously working hard to ensure the next guest had a clean room, but if you are here it would be nice to have the sheets changed every 2-3 days as sand builds up. Add in that it would be good to have your towels and the like replaced without askimg for it as well. The room we had was small, but like I said it was clean, but I can see that being an issue for people. The third issue is limited parking space. This is likely something the hotel can't really alleviate but it can be an issue.
Overall, we felt we got what we paid for and may book this hotel again, but I always am of the opinion people read these reviews for an honest idea from people who have stayed here. Some simple things and I would have happily upgraded my review.
