I took my 2 year old son here recently for a second opinion for a black line on his thumb. I had previously taken him to a dermatologist office and felt dissatisfied with their care/"bedside manor", their lack of wanting to discuss & answer questions regarding my little boy, and their biopsy treatment plan. Every time we went there I felt as though i was being rushed out the door and my son cried at every appt and they barely even touched him; all & all we were both just not comfortable. We came here and were seen by Dr.Luis Laurentin-Perez, who my son instantly felt at ease with. He was kind, comforting, knowledgeable, and took the time to talk with me about the care of my baby. We scheduled my son's procedure with him and I received 2 calls from the doctor himself, to talk to me, assure me that my boy was in the best hands, and to just make sure everything was good. The day of the procedure, he talked with my husband & I to go over the details, made my son feel comfortable for what can be a scary thing for a child in a hospital, and overall gave us the best experience someone could for a stressful situation. I also want to say that ALL the medical staff that morning were amazing...so much so, that my 2 year old talks about that day as a fond memory. A day or so after the surgery, I received a call from the doctor just to check on us & see how he was doing as we awaited the results of my son's biopsy. The next day (a Friday) I thought for sure we were going to have to wait through the weekend before we got the results. 7pm we received a call from from Dr.Laurentin-Perez to let us know that all was well with our boy! This doctor shows compassion for his patients, and as parents knew that if results came in, it wouldn't matter what time we received that phone call, we would want to know immediately! I would HIGHLY recommend this Doctor & this office. They treat every patient as a priority and that says a lot!
