“Wow! We have always stayed in chain hotels and decided to try this place for a change. And we will be staying here every time we visit NPR! Not only has the building been beautifully renovated in a way that honors the historic value, the staff is top notch and the room was amazing. We were warmly welcomed upon checkin. As we entered our room the first thing I noticed was how good it smelled. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean - seriously, housekeeping is top notch!! While the room is a bit small - there’s not much you can do to change 1927 architecture. The hacienda makes up for it with the character of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. Thank you!!”

“I've been driving by this restaurant for over a year meaning to stop in. I finally made the time to do so yesterday and was quite pleased. It's the type of restaurant you'd expect to find in small local town with the owner greeting you and asking what he can get for you. Not much to look at, but like I said it's a local place like you might find in a Mexican village. Good food! I told him I needed to get something to eat and drink. The menu was hand written and without my glasses hard to read so he went through the menu until I stopped him at burritos. Make this short, I think his mother was cooking and she made me a wonderful beef, bean, rice burrito that you only get from a traditional Mexican mother that's doing the cooking.”

“I got a premade bbq chicken sandwich and Mac n cheese. Chicken on sandwich was surprisingly still crispy! Mac n cheese was hot and very cheesy; I definitely recommend it. Coworker got 4-pc tender, honey biscuit, and Mac n cheese. He said tenders were really good, a little spicy and certainly not cold. He loved the Mac n cheese. Biscuit was "alright". If you're looking for an excellent meal, gas station food probably isn't a good choice. That said, this gas station's food exceeded our expectations by quite a bit!”

The ambiance is cozy. We love the headboards attached to the walls. The music is soft and delightful. Our food was cooked fast and was made with high-quality ingredients. This restaurant is a bit pricey for lunnch but we did enjoy our meals.”

I ordered small Oxtail peas and rice - the rice was good a hint of coconut taste which I liked - the oxtail fell off the bones and tasted good but would have liked more flavor. Jerk wings with rice and peas- wings were really good you can taste the jerk seasoning. Curry Chicken with rice and peas- it was ok I felt the curry needed more flavor and heat. Overall we like the food and will return but this time go during the day.”

It was well worth the 25-minute drive from Carrollwood. Check it out for yourself!”

“My hubby is a cheesesteak lover so we had to stop here for lunch. We ordered the large Bebo cheese stake with fries and split it. It was plenty for both of us. I liked the fact that the meat was chopped small and loved all the cheese. French fries with hot and fresh. We sat out front and they brought our sandwich. I will come back to try other sandwiches. Only reason they did not get a five star is because I love fresh mushrooms, not canned.”
