My dyslexic daughter was struggling (failing really) in the public school and rapidly falling behind her peers. Medical doctors gave me a clear understanding of her diagnosis but not a clear game plan to address it. Lemon Tree took the time to understand her specific needs, craft a specific approach matched to those needs and then laid out a therapy plan. There is no magic pill here. Things did not happen after one or two visits but this was clearly communicated from the beginning. The overwhelming success we saw was most evident in how my daughter became self aware of her particular weaknesses (and strengths) when reading or studying. She learned and then mastered when and how to apply the techniques she was taught. She began to succeed and then excel in her remaining primary and secondary schooling. She is a college sophomore now and reading is a passion and a joy for her. She has held onto the studying techniques she learned. BOTTOM LINE: There is no scenario where we as parents could have accomplished this on our own or by leveraging the resources of the public school system. Without question, there is a direct correlation between the people/environment/therapy experienced at Lemon Tree and the thriving young woman before me.
My son was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was in 3rd grade. I did not know how he would cope with school and was so thankful when a friend referred us to Ms Maria. Within a couple of months he showed remarkable improvement in not only his reading and writing ability but also his confidence! His therapy lasted less than a year has but it has made all the difference. He is now a confident 16 year old, who is excelling in school and I contribute a big part of this to the impact that Ms Maria at The Lemon Tree has made in his life!
I can not speak highly enough about The Lemon Tree and the amazing therapists there. Both my kiddos attended Lemon Tree for several years and loved their time there. Maria is a godsent who tuely is passionate about helping kiddos and making sure they have all the tools they need to succeed. Thank you Lemon Tree for everything you have done for my kids and the encouragement and support you gave to our family.
I am so grateful to Lemon Tree. My son was diagnosed with a Processing Disorder that impacted academics across the board. We spent long hours studying with little results. We met Mrs. Maria during our first appointment - she was so knowledgeable & compassionate. I immediately knew we were in the right place. She got intervention going right away with Mrs. Courtney - her positivity and warmth was exactly what my son needed! My son learned the most amazing strategies to circumvent that uphill climb. Now, he is a straight A student who never needs to ask for help.
