“Don't let the decor dissuade you. It feels like some of the small restaurants down in the keys. The food is very good with one exception, the vegetables came from a can. I would have given it a 5 except for that. They use a very good grade of beef for the rib eye so it was tender and not full of gristle as can be the case with rib eyes at times. The shrimp cocktail has a great cocktail sauce and decent sized shrimp.”

“We live near Lake Wales all year, so we are local diners. We have eaten breakfast, but this is a first for dinner. We both got burgers and fries/onion rings. The burger tasted great, good seasoning etc. The food was hot and fresh. The fries were just regular crinkle fries, and not the type I like. Next time I’ll opt for another side. The service was excellent. At 6:30 PM, people were beginning to leave, so it’s easy to get in and eat. Lots of seniors eat early. The desserts look wonderful and I’ve eaten chocolate cake there before. I didn’t get one today, but I recommend them.”

“Al's place is a sliver of southern Americana the only thing better than the food is the people who work there. The food is good the prices are reasonable. The memorabilia on the walls are well worth reading. I highly recommend a trip to Al's place and meet Trish and the rest of the wonderful people that work there. Go for lunch or dinner or just go have a beer and set at the bar and watch sports. No corporate America here, you're going to feel more like you're visiting family even on your first visit. I highly recommend Al's place and would give it 10 Stars if I could.”

“We had reservation so seating was quick. Calamari and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. Hot and delicious. Dinner rolls soft and buttery. The seafood platters and the steaks all hit the spot. Salad and bake potatoes, sweet potato, rice or fries all came with entree's. Could not eat all. Had to get to go boxes. Kayla was our server. Very polite and regularly checked in on us. This was our first visit. Very much enjoyed the service.”
