Nice park. Lots of trails
Within distance and allows people to go off-roading, place for your kids to play their sports games, has an enclosed pavilion, dog park, a small kayaking spot. Very nice place for the whole family year long
Lots of walking trails, public restrooms on site by parking lot. Lots of animals to see, very quiet park.
This wetland preserve, while open, is under development by the City of Lakeland. As the name implies, the preserve contains 7 wetlands, 2 of which are open to the public. While I don't find the views of the 2 open hiking trails as picturesque as other parks in Lakeland, such as Circle B Bar Reserve, it is great to see Lakeland preserving the natural splendor that really showcases some of Florida's natural features. There is not much tree cover along the lengthy trails so be prepared to be exposed under the Florida sun during your time at the park and pack some sunscreen. No pets are allowed so leave fido at home. There are no paper trail maps for the park so I would suggest snapping a picture of the trail map at the entrance prior to making your way into the sprawling preserve. The trails are well marked but may prove difficult to navigate for those who lack good wayfinding skills.
