(September 3, 2022, 10:57 am)Wow. If you want to know what food tastes like when it doesn’t have to travel 100 miles and many days to arrive in a store (and then sit on a shelf), come here and partake in local, farm fresh food. Love this place.
(April 1, 2022, 2:44 pm)The crops they grow.....all organic (and the list is long) are picked hours before they are sold so......they stay fresh 1-2 weeks if you store them properly. Love the spinach, kale, arugula lettuces, beets, dill, parsley. Many other organic veggies, fruits, cheeses, etc from local and other sources. Great hard working staff. Check website for hours.
(February 18, 2022, 8:00 pm)I visited Jessica’s organic farm for the first time. I will be going back regularly! The farm and farm stand are surprisingly close to the hustle of University Ave, easy to get to, but feels like a gorgeous retreat from traffic! There is a wonderful selection of local organic produce. The greens look amazing; I saw a new vegetable I’ve never tried before. There were great prices on some items I have a hard time even finding in our local markets. I have a friend who drives up from Port Charlotte to visit Jessica’s; now I know why! Nothing tastes as delicious as fresh picked produce!
(November 23, 2018, 3:57 pm)When I visit one of these local outdoor produce stands, I expect the products to be grown or harvested locally. But Jessica's explained that certain produce cant be grown locally year round, which is why most of the products are labeled from California. Florida in-season produce appears to be grown by Jessica's farm, but the bulk of their produce is from California. I got some red onions from California, some rosemary from Washington, and some Soy free pasture raised eggs from Pennsylvania for $6 a dozen. The Soy Free pasture raised eggs was worth the trip because they are hard to find, but I wish they were local. Jessica's believes the PA eggs are the best, which is why they choose to carry them over local eggs. The vegetables all looked very fresh and of high quality.
