Sunnyside Village

One of the nicest retirement communities in Sarasota. The people are all friendly, there are lots of activities, the grounds are beautiful, and the food is good. Unlike many retirement facilities, in this one you buy the unit for a fair price and are guaranteed 60% back. There’s also a full continuum of care so loved ones can stay close.
It is definitely a Christian community, so also quite conservative. I have several friends there who are not Christian and they still feel welcome.

Sunnyside put a twinkle back into the eyes of our Mom! Before Sunnyside, she was just surviving. It took a bit of time, but after consistent good nourishment, nursing care, creative social activities, meaningful pastoral care, appropriate therapy, and truly caring individuals showing kindness and love, she has blossomed back into life. The rooms are not only beautiful, but also kept meticulously clean, and laundry service is done to a very high standard. Every staff member has played a part in her ability to enjoy life once again. There is not a day that has gone by that we have not been thankful for Sunnyside!!!

Cheerful professional management, nursing and rehab staff obtained top results for my father, a 94 year old with dementia who had broken his hip. Sunnyside Village maintains open lines of communication, both invaluable and comforting during this pandemic. Patient dignity is VERY important at this facility. I visit this nursing home on occasion with my girlfriend to see her mother Olive. I'm impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and hallways plus the outdoor landscaping. There are nice places to sit and relax but the special place that Olive enjoys is a walk around the pond with views of the water, ducks, and turtles. It's definitely an M&M for Olive! I'm not talking the chocolate candy kind but a Magic Moment 😀
