Gertrude Rentals - Old Man and the Sea Inn

The location was really great for the price. About a five minute walk to the beach and the place had everything we needed for the beach! Really quite area that is a bit more residential than main Siesta Key. We liked that the public beach there was less crowded since most of the people were up north. Food options are really great within walking distance.

With my mother and sister, we stayed in the Poor Boy. Perfect location - on the beach within 3 minutes, 8 minutes walk to good restaurants, liquor store, convenient store and a couple shops. Every extra you need from beach chairs/umbrellas, grill/tools, indoor/outdoor towels, every plate/cup/kitchen tool , free washer/dryer was provided. Room was sufficient and clean... most of time was spent outside on the hammocks/recliners or at beach.

LOVED this seaside retreat steps away from beautiful Siesta Key/Point of Rocks beach. Beautifully maintained and cute, colorful seaside decor throughout the inn. Fun outdoor patio with Tikki bar, grill and tables so you can enjoy El fresco dinners after a day at the beach. Walking distance to fun restaurant/bars like the Snikki Tikki, Captain Curt’s & Pizza n Brews. Free trolley rides and vans will take you to Siesta Village only 10 mins away! The beach is beautiful and fairly private as it’s a the end of Siesta Key beach next to the Point of Rocks wall. At low tide you can walk around the sea wall and view the beautiful rock formations, tide pools and collect some pretty seashells. I highly recommend this inn and Dan the Owner is awesome and responds quickly to any questions or requests you may have!

Dan, the owner really did a great job in the beach decor of the unit. He provides great information about the area that is quite helpful for your stay. There is beach equipment for you to use. Prices were very reasonable and any questions you had he was prepared to answer. There is a great area to barbecue and hang out with family and friends, and the grills were neat and equipped.

A perfect Getaway, perfect host, perfect stay! This is the second time we have vacationed at the Old Man & the Sea Inn. If you want an easy, relaxing trip look no further. Literally steps from the beach. Such a convenience to be so close to the beach and be able to run back for lunch, a drink or a bathroom break when you are soaking in the glorious sun. I can't say enough about the host Dan. He is literally a text away to quickly respond about choices of restaurants, suggestions, or anything you might need. There are so many beach chairs for you to choose from, sand toys for the kids, boogie boards - all for each guest to use. The rooms are clean, spacious enough, and perfect for your vacation needs. You truly don't even need a car (although every room has a parking spot). We used instacart to deliver our groceries and plopped ourselves on the beach. At night you could venture out and take the free jitney into town. The beach is amazing. Picture perfect. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it here so much and we will definitely be back!!!!
