“My 16 year old son dislocated his shoulder twice playing football, 2 seasons in a row. He completed physical therapy on both occasions but never really got any guidance on how to prevent future dislocations. When I contacted Rachel JAKUBOWSKI for the first time, I explained this to her and she told me that she could work with my son long term, specifically with a goal of avoiding future dislocations. When we met with Rachel, she was very professional and thorough. She quickly assessed and educated us about shoulder dislocations as well as the risk of returning to play too soon. She also worked to develop a plan with my son to stabilize the shoulder. The caliber of her work far exceeds any physical therapist and orthopedist we had seen thus far. After a couple of months working with Rachel, my son is fully healed and his shoulder is strong. He will be able to be on the weightlifting team this year at school; something he could not do last year. The best thing we got from Rachel is a solid recovery plan to prevent future injuries. Granted there’s no guarantee, especially with a contact sport like football, but the ongoing prevention plan is definitely where other rehab centers have fallen short. We are extremely grateful for Rachel’s expertise with sports injuries and are comforted by the fact that should he get injured again, we have an outstanding therapist that can help him heal and return to playing safely and as quickly as possible.”

Doro and Lynette think outside the box and realize there’s not a one size fits all approach to therapy, which makes the therapy and them extremely effective. They treat the person instead of the diagnosis by using a blend of different techniques. Both of them are positive and super motivated to help you reach your goals and cheer you on every step of the way. “After a lifetime struggle with anxiety and other emotional issues, and 10 years hiding/coping/surviving, a recent trauma set my PTSD off. My marriage was struggling; I needed to find someone and quick. I called around to many MANY people in the surrounding areas. Some you could only contact via their website, some you could only speak with their front office staff, some were condescending and didn’t seem to really care...then there was Dora. The most sweetest, genuine, caring person...with the most calming, pleasant voice. You could hear the empathy pouring from her words as I sat there and teared up on the phone with her. She answered my voicemail within 5 minutes of leaving it (at 8pm after my son’s ball game, mind you) and it was her herself who called me back. She didn’t rush me off the phone. She listened to my story, listened to the struggles with my children who had just lost their young grandfather...she even offered advice and bracelets that I could get for my babies in the meantime to help them with anxiety. 30+ minutes she sat there and spoke to me..knowing she wasn’t getting paid for that call. But she stayed on, never once rushed me, and just listened with genuine concern. I have been going to her for about 2 months now and I cannot tell you how incredibly happy I am with her and what she’s done for me. She is an incredible person and psychologist and makes you feel like you’ve known her your entire life. I would recommend her to ANYONE who needs help, or a friend, a guide, a confidant....or someone to help your child. Her establishment is INCREDIBLE and the child set up for play therapy is phenomenal. Not to mention her office is lakefront so as you’re talking, you get to stare out into this gorgeous tranquil view. Some therapist go into the field for the money...and then there’s others like Dora who do it truly for the love and betterment of human life. Thank you, Dora...for all that you do.”
