I used to go to this park with my dad. He lived over by Anastasia nursery and we would walk over and fish or catch the sunset (or sunrise). It's bittersweet to visit as he passed a few years ago. But i always make the time when I'm in town. Beautiful shaded area, nice little pier and boat ramp.
Lighthouse Park Boat Ramp is very beautiful, safe, and peaceful area. Really great area for lighthouse, engagement, wedding, graduation, nature and natural beach photography. Not too busy but still very active. Beautiful views of Lighthouse, coast, beach, oyster beds, sky, boats, palms, and sea.
This is a lovely place, quiet when we visited on wednesday at around 1030 a.m. We were looking for a nice place to bring elderly dad to sit on pier and fish. The pier is very narrow, but has pop outs with benches so we plan on bringing him in his transfer wheelchair to get some fresh air.
The ramp is really nice and not slippery. Although I was launching the paddle board it was easy to walk into the water and have sand and not barnacles greet you. And not scratch my board. Parking is great and shady if your early. The restrooms are large and clean. Everyone was nice with lots of Father’s Day launches no one was rude and all idled out respecting the kayaks and boards. Beautiful view of the lighthouse too
Lots of paddle board and kayak vendors mixed with big boats. This launch was highly recommended by isle and other paddle board companies. Just be careful. Low tide has lots of clams beds. And boaters run fast even in the no wake. But you can see tons of dolphins and there are lots of sand bars as low tide to explore. Was able to go around the edge and see the inlet at Vilano and also the fort and downtown. Just be smart. More boat traffic than I thought would be there. Nw t time I will head south and bring a lunch to enjoy at the park across the waterway. A lot to see and a great workout!!
