We found The Pier House based on reviews online and are so glad that we did! The location isn’t the greatest, and you can tell that the restaurant used to be something else, but the service and the food were spectacular. We arrived and walked in and were surprised that the location didn’t seem to match the menu we’d checked out online, but we sat down anyway.
One of our group ordered the calzones cocktail, and the server mentioned that they grill the cactus to make the puree for it to order. With that level of detail, we had great hopes.
Our drinks were great, we ordered appetizers, including the mozzarella planks, which were perfectly fried, and caprese salad, which was so fresh and delicious. As a native of New England, I’ve had my fair share of chowders- this clam chowder was SO flavorful. For dinner, we had steaks and seafood. The steaks were all seasoned well and cooked to the perfect temperatures and the house vegetables were cooked but still had a great texture to them.
Overall, we were very impressed with the food and the service. I’d definitely go back again.
This place was so good and should be packed. Thankful it wasn't so we were able to get right in. The service was great! Our food was AMAZING. My wife had the new york strip with a loaded baked potato and the steak was very tender and had so much flavor. We normally tend to ask for steak sauce and didn't have to at all. I got the filet medallions with the au poivre and it had the most flavor I've ever had. Also the Cesar salad was the freshest I've ever had wish such good Cesar dressing. Highly recommend. The mashed potatoes had great flavor but were a little salty to my taste. We also got the stuffed jalapenos and those were great also!! This place is a must try if you're looking for a streak house in Daytona.
Directly across from our hotel was the Pier House. I will say the food was amazing but I only offered up a 4 star review because at the end of the meal I asked for the bill. My sons 17 year old girlfriend also asked for the bill. I’m a 50 year old woman and he gave the bill to pay to the young girl in school who needs to save her money. We didn’t eat cheap either. We had the most delicious tomahawk steak. He gave the bill to a young girl and not the adult and when I asked him to cancel it, he said he couldn’t. You know, an amazing dinner, great food, fast service all went out of my brain knowing a young child bought my meal. But the mashed potatoes were great.
Josh and Eli were great. We did the breakfast buffet and dinner. I will definitely go back when I am in the area.
Great restaurant. I didn't understand why the place was nearly empty on a Saturday night at 6:30. The service and food were fantastic and reasonably priced. I think they are known for their breakfast buffet and the weekends, but we had a great dinner. The wedge salad was fresh and crisp. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The margarita was tasty with just the right amount of zing. My wife got a grilled fish sandwich that she thought was awesome. Her fries were hot and crisp. Parking right off of A1A, free and plenty of spaces. We will be back!
