Great teachers who will always treat you with respect.
I went there and loved it. The teachers there are pretty nice. And I enjoyed going to elementary school here.
Sixes in an amazing school. The teachers, staff, PTA, and administration truly have the students' best interests at heart. It is unfortunate that anyone can hide behind a screen name and post things that aren't true. If you ask people that are part of the Sixes family (staff, parents, and students) they can attest to car pool not taking 20-30 minutes in the morning, the principal does not walk around with her cell phone posting on social media (this claim was the most ridiculous), and the building is secure.
I moved here two years ago and could not be happier with the education my boys have been provided with at Sixes. Their teachers took them from struggling learners to self confident, life long learners who believe in themselves. Every person shows an interest in all of the children from special educators to gifted teachers to the custodial staff and administration. My children love going to school because they are in an environment where they feel safe, loved, and nurtured. I have witnessed the amount of differentiation that goes on to meet the needs of every child, the focus on the development of the whole child, and the amount of technology used to prepare students for the 21st century, and the sense of a family atmosphere that is created at Sixes. Mrs. Crews and Mr. Gunter go above and beyond to develop relationships with each student and always put the needs of children ahead of everything else. I am beyond thrilled that my children go to such a wonderful school!
I am privileged to work as an employee at Sixes, and I am also a former parent times four. There is no greater elementary school in Cherokee County. (I have worked at several.) The safety and physical well-being of each student is as equally important as their academic success. School operations run at an optimal due to the diligence of the administration. I am responsible for car-riders, and I have been told by the police officer that frequent all the schools, we have the most proficient system of all the schools in getting children back to parents' cars in the afternoons. The teachers are phenomenal with hearts as big as Texas. They bring their gifts and talents of teaching to the classroom and it is evident their calling to teach. Sixes is a school that reflects the public school system doing it right.
