“10/17/22 I am so very grateful Jason Dolenga was recommended to me for hitting instruction for my son Eli! Even though Eli’s mechanics with his swing were pretty sound already from another excellent instructor, Jason took his effectiveness as a hitter to another level. He sees what other instructors miss. Right away, he taught my son how to hit in the opposite direction (he is right-handed) by having his hands stay in the zone longer through his swing, coupled with visualizing the ball going where he wants it to go. He also taught him how to hit with more power and in the air more. The number of doubles Eli hit after Jason started working with him shot up dramatically. He not only fine-tuned Eli’s swing but also enhanced his mental approach to hitting. As a teacher for many years, I was immediately impressed by how he works with my son. He is very straight-forward, specific with his tutelage, and encouraging. He is also quite skilled at having the player find what works for them from his teachings. Jason wanted Eli to load bigger and swing with more power recently, and I distinctly remember how he approached this. He encouraged Eli to try different things and see what works for him, such as raising his front leg a bit, or leaning back more before the pitch, etc. Jason doesn’t tell every student the same thing. He tailors the instruction per the student. This is a very nuanced and insightful way to teach for which I quickly recognized the value. Shortly after a couple of recent sessions with Jason, Eli hit 3 doubles in one day of a recent tournament…2 of which were back-to-back – one in the Left/Center gap, and the other in the Right/Center gap. The 3rd one was over the left-fielder’s head. And, more recently Eli hit a triple to right field going with the pitch well, and I thought of his instruction with Jason. I am very particular about coaching for my son’s evolution as a baseball player, and the bottom-line for me is that Jason Dolenga has a great deal of insight and ability to bring out the best hitter a baseball player has in him. - Steve Ordower”
