Having been in the recovery program for a couple of decades, I have continually struggled to get any long-term relief. I felt that the only way I can guarantee my success was committing hours a week going to meetings and if I wasn't able to go to as many meetings over a period of time, I was falling off the wagon and doomed to fail. Ultimately, I would manifest this into a thought based reality and "fail".
I always thought I could control my thoughts and eventually my thoughts would start to control me. If I had a negative thought.. let's say to pick up a drink.. in my mind, I was destined to pick up a drink, so why not get it over with. I also thought there was just one way to get and stay sober and every other way was a gimmick.
I learned at Centered that I can't control my thoughts and I don't have too. Just like I don't have to make an effort to breath or make my heart beat every second of the day, there is no need for me to try to control my thoughts. I also was relieved that I am not limited to a subset of recommended literature to stay sober and grow as individual. There is a wealth of knowledge out there that is extremely helpful.
I recommend this program to anyone that not only wants to stop picking up a substance but to those that want to learn a new way to live and break free of the limitations that you think you have.
Centered Recovery has saved my life! This may sound flippant and cliched but it's the truth! In January this year my life was falling apart and I was heading downhill fast. Centered Recovery was recommended to me and right from the beginning all the staff were fantastic. They are kind and genuine people. Their approach to solving your addiction is unique and very special. They have provided me with the tools to live in harmony with my mind, body and spirit. And because of this my anxiety has reduced significantly. My only wish is that I could carry on attending 3 days a week. I feel I still have so much to learn from this amazing team.
Thank so so much Reed and the team. I will always remember this special time.
The counselors are real. They get to the who, what, when, where, and how of an issue while maintaining the focus on the Present. They help guide you into a greater understanding of yourself and the world in which we co-create. I recommend this program to ANYONE seeking a greater bandwidth of perception and comprehension in life. The information I have learned from Centered has transformed my life and the knowledge is priceless.
Centered Recovery (CRP) is a great place to work. The staff are kind, caring, generous, and passionate about helping clients recover. The attitude at CRP is that of non-judgment and lifting clients up to meet their potential. Clients arrive to treatment with broken spirits and they leave with the hope and confidence of sustained sobriety. CRP embraces the philosophy that there is more than a "one size fits all" to recovery. If you have tried multiple times to get sober with limited success, check out Centered Recovery's unique program. It might be the missing puzzle piece you've been looking for.
Centered Recovery helped me in the way that it takes a new approach to recovery which is logical and more calculated. Rather than putting the power in faith or religion as many programs do, and expect you just to "gain strength through faith", Centered takes an analytical look at how your mind works. They work with you to help you with what personally bothers you and give you solutions and tactics to handle life. This is why I have really enjoyed it over the dated "12 step programs" that I couldn't really relate with as I'm not religious. They also don't focus on you being an addict which many other programs love to keep reminding you of and rather treat you like a person that just hasn't had proper experience to build healthy habits, and thus helps you find and learn those healthy habits. I still check in once a week just because I feel I benefit from the things learned and shared there.
