Coweta County Animal Shelter

It's our county animal shelter. No frills. But the do their best for the animals. The large dog area can be a bit overwhelming... They want human attention and will bark/jump to entice you to pet them.

We had a great experience! Staff in the front was nice, the inmates were nice and very patient with us. We notice they are very nice and caring to all the animals it was greatly appreciated to see.

I recommend when you want to see a puppy, try to ask for help and have them put you together with them in a little playing area. The reason I say this is because they bark a bit inside their cages and it can get a little hard to see their playful personalities. We got a pitbull/terrier and she is wonderful and very happy to have a home.

The staff was very professional and the facility was clean. I adopted a Mastiff mix whose name was Hinez, but I changed it to Ringo. Best dog a girl could ask for.

My wife and I had the best experience today at this shelter. First of all, make sure you wear a mask when entering as it is required. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and safety measures that were taken as far as Covid. The staff was very friendly and helpful every step of the way. Even the helpers were there to help us locate a dog and take it to the play yard. We left with a wonderful dog and are thrilled!
