  I had to call main office to place a work order for my husband's wheelchair that kept losing power. I spoke with Alex who was very helpful n was sure Medicare would pay for new batteries that was yesterday now waiting on someone to bring them and install them. Hope its soon

  OK so I'm happy to be the first 5-star positive review of my experience working with Rehab Medical.
  
  In short...Their knowledgable representative spent at least an hour with my elderly father to understand his needs, measuring and gathering all info required for the rep's design of a proper chair. The representative worked directly with my father's General Physician Nurse Practitioner to get the written prescription for the chair and complete all paperwork necessary for Medicare coverage. Once they placed the order it took a good month at least. But once they received the chair I coordinated a meeting time so I could be there as well for delivery.
  
  The wheelchair is NICE. A high end sports car of wheelchairs with great features. And, in my father's case, was totally covered by his Medicare (w no supplemental). I was taken aback with how expensive the chairs can range in price ($3 - 5K). The technician who delivered the chair (the same who initially visited) worked with my father (and me) on final adjustments. It has been working perfectly since the day received. My father lives in his wheelchair. Excellent seat cushioning, size, lightweight, everything spot on. Far surpasses a typical generic DRIVE type wheelchair. The rep also made a follow up visit on the chance more adjustments needed to be made. At my request, he had ordered additional front wheel forks we at first thought we might need for proper height. Turned out that once my father settled into the new chair over the following 2 weeks, the forks weren't necessary.
  
  Counter to other experiences here, the folks in the office at Rehab Medical kept me up to date and returned my phone calls within a day, if not within hours.
  
  More longer story and observations of the process...Chasing down a wheelchair can be tedious and trying to do it alone thru Google or over the phone can be very vague, confusing and frustrating figuring out where to start. You simply can't just go to a wheelchair store and dial everything in, at least if you are trying to route the purchase through Medicare or other insurance.
  
  The best process is to work through your General Physician or home care Physical/ Occupational Therapist. They know how to handle it. As I find the usual in dealing with doctors, hospitals and such (especially in a big city like Atlanta) you might have to stay on top of it to make sure the process hasn't stalled along the way, as there are a lot of moving parts (no pun intended) to reach the point of receiving the chair. The entire process took me 2 months easy. And that's not including the prior time I wasted trying to chase down on my own and giving up each attempt.
  
  Rehab Medical is apparently one of the leading nationwide services for wheelchair custom design. Therefore, these folks are very busy. But from my experience I'm convinced they totally know what their doing. My first communication attempts were a little bumpy, but we quickly resolved and the process went very smoothly from there forward. The folks in the Atlanta office were a real pleasure to work with. Therefore, happy to rate them 5 stars.
