Adoption process was a breeze. Everyone was super friendly and you can tell they love every animal in there.
We got our furever baby from PAWS Atlanta on Covington Hwy. Beth G. helped us and gave us important advice. The people who work there truly love and adore the animals there. They also want to place each animal with the right family. We are happy! It is a match made in heaven! Thank you PAWS Atlanta!?❤️?❤️
While scrolling through posts for several needed services, I came across a pet food giveaway on yesterday 11.7.20. Unfortunately, I missed the timeframe and sent an email to the general inbox asking about the next food giveaway without explaining anything about myself or my situation. Within 20 minutes of my email, I received an email from Michelle stating that they would soon have another food give away but I could go pick up some food for my dog. Today (11.08.20), I went to the shelter to pick up the food for my service dog Tyler and was very grateful to receive two bags of dog food. When I reached out to Paws on yesterday I didn't expect such a quick response and I definitely didn't expect to be told that I could still get some food for my dog. I am very grateful to this nonprofit which embodies community on soo many levels. While I hate asking anyone for anything as an exceptional needs person, I stepped out of my comfort zone and contacted this agency not expecting anything other than "no." I never disclosed that I am autistic nor did I disclose that my dog is my service dog or how I had no money to buy my Tyler's food because I lost all of my food in the recent storm or how my limited social security disability stipend doesn't come until next week which will barely cover my other financial requirements. I am being transparent to make a point that I was never required to explain to Michelle or Heather why I needed the dog food. This agency did not embarrass me or make me feel less than when I inquired about the free food and because of their altruistic behavior, I have one less thing to worry about. This is how nonprofits and community agencies are supposed to operate. This agency has leaders and staff who not only show compassion to animals they also show it to humans in need. I am very grateful to these people for showing me professionalism and kindness in a world that is oftentimes too busy with its own problems to care about others. I ask all of you reading my review who can spare their time and money to please donate and volunteer to this agency and to other nonprofits that are community focused making a positive difference one animal and human at a time! Nonprofits like this one are jewels in our community and we must support them so that they can continue to do their work and also support us when we are in need! Kudos and much thanks to PAWS Atlanta Decatur!
First visited PAWS Atlanta in January - adopted cat #1. Went back in March
under covid-19 restrictions to pick-up a cat for fostering - later adopted him as cat #2. Am now happily fostering another of these sweet beings. PAWS is such a great rescue organization for animals. They do a lot of good work and the staff are friendly and very helpful in all areas of animal care.
