Speech Assessment Center: Keanna Nelson, SLP

When i discovered my 5YO son had a stutter we searched for a licensed speech therapist who was compassionate, patient, and well educated in their field of study. A friend referred us to Keanna Nelson, SLP. Since his weekly sessions, I’ve noticed a new level of confidence in my son’s speech and he’s now more aware of when and how to correct himself in dialogue. This is not an overnight ordeal and we’re learning to trust the process. Ms Keanna and Indya have been accommodating with their scheduling and they make sure to practice the correct protocols for COVID-19 safety. In terms of office cleanliness, care and expertise, 5 star well earned over the board.

Mrs. Keanna is very professional, helpful, and nice. I daughter looks forwards to their weekly sessions. The Speech Assessment Center was our first outreach and she has been exceptional. You can tell how dedicated and engaged she is with her students. I love it that my daughter is having fun while also learning, Its an amazing feeling when your child has someone besides family who can understand, comfort, and support her while she is bettering herself. I would definitely recommend Mrs. Keanna.
Also, Indya, the receptionist is always friendly whenever I call the office. She is very knowledgeable about questions that I may have.

I can't say enough good things about the Speech Assessment Center in Fayetteville! Keanna is amazing with my eight year old son so of course he loves going to see her each week. When we first came to the office, she and her receptionist made us feel welcome right away, and they got everything in the works easily as far as insurance and his pediatrician go. The office is pleasant and inviting. I am encouraged to sit in on the therapy sessions and I'm acknowledged and included from time to time, which is great because I am the one with my son the most so I need to know how to help him at home.

There are not enough words to describe this wonderful lady. Mrs. Keanna is an exceptional speech pathologist whom I highly recommend. I believe it’s extremely rare to find such a compassionate person who is committed to what they do everyday. She truly cares about the children she works with daily, even their parents/ guardians. She spends the time to really make you feel comfortable and at ease with the entire process with evaluations, sessions, etc. Because of Mrs. Keanna I have seen a great amount of improvement in my son’s speech and language, his communication with His wants and needs are becoming outstanding and clear for us to understand. His growth with his educational development is exceptional. All because of Mrs. Keanna. Without her he wouldn’t have gotten this far! She is truly an amazing person, and my son just loves her to death!
