I was a Paramedic for VMT a couple of years ago. The company is a great place to work for new and seasoned EMS providers. Veterans is well known around Georgia. Patient rapport is some of the best, as their EMTs often strive to provide great care and timely pickups. Most of the crews are fun to work with it's family oriented environment. The owner is business-minded, but cool and fair. The head supervisor in Fayetteville is very talented, smart, fair, ensures operations is running smoothly and is always seeking to improve company morale. The job offers a variety of call types, such as 911, ALS/BLS IFT, CCT calls, discharges, and dialysis transports. VMT has contracts with multiple healthcare providers, so you will get to see a lot.
The call volume can be hectic at times - but that's EMS for ya - however, the pay is good and the pace is stable for newcomers. Many EMS agencies tend throw pre-hospital workers to the wolves and expect them to learn on the fly, not this company. There's always someone there to show you the ropes. And they don't typically hire sociopaths or paragods. The company naturally attracts decent people. Any new medic who wants to become a CCP-C/CCEMT-P and want to get experience with IV pump and ventilator transports, this is the place to be. When I left, VMT had a just got a 911 contract and significantly boosted paramedic and EMT pay. With the cost of living in GA, you can't beat the salary with a bat! As a private business, they also offer benefits.
I can vouch for this company. They have new ambulances that are very clean and strive to be on time with every patient. I've never known them to be shoddy in their patient or their relationships with patients families.
Awesome place for EMS personnel to work at. Patients are well taken care of and have a great rapport with personnel.
