I was in the first graduating class in 1967. Construction was delayed, so my class went half a year to Underwood Hills before moving into Spalding in January 1967. It was a great half year. Nice classrooms, a big auditorium/lunchroom, and huge play grounds. It was claimed that they would hang a picture of the first graduating class in the principal's office for posterity. I've been meaning to drop by and see...for the last 50 years.
A great, community school! Teachers are excellent, administration is skilled and more than willing to listen to the needs of the families and children who attend. We had initially been planning on going the private school route, but after several visits (and really getting to understand the school, the high level of parent participation, and academic performance) we decided that this was the place for our child. Most importantly our daughter seems to love it there.
This school is amazing. I went there from k-4th, and the experience was amazing. I recommend if you are going to 3rd, ask for Ms.Jsames. My favorite teacher in the world, we still keep in contact. ;) If you're going to 4th, Ms.Blackley is the PERFECT teacher for you. If you like this school, you'll love Woodland Charter Elementary. Both schools are very diverse and are in friendly enviorments :D
I sat in at this school and it seemed to be a very good school. The teachers overall are friendly however, in the special needs pre-k I saw some things that made feel the male teacher or paraprofessional were too rough and yelled a bit much placing hands on the kids too much.
Teachers are Great!!! My daughter loves it and thats what satisfies me..
