Lorraine Park

Nice additions to the park over the past couple of years. The walkway to the river for canoe lauches is still in progress.

Under construction still. Thry are placing a walkway with a floating dock. This is to help trespping on the bridge to put in or out of Yellow River.

This small park has restrooms, parking, playground and views of the South River. There are also lookouts and an entrance to the river for kayakers. Taking the paved path south will take you all the way to the Holy Spirit monastery (Approx 3miles). (The bridge leading to the monastery was closed for repairs on 2/6/24). Taking the path north will take you 1.1 mi to South Rockdale Community Park. (A section of this path was under construction on 2/6/24). This is a quiet, clean park that isn't usually busy.

We went kayaking on Sunday (survived the storm that came though) what a great adventure.. and the playground is amazing with all kinds of climbing equipment!

When we first arrived we wanted to try out the trail but the entrance towards the top leads you to the side walk and we really didn't like that. We ended up going back down through the park and entered that way. Didn't do much of the trail since our kids wanted to go to the park since they thought it looked amazing. We sat by the shade and had some sandwiches. They had so much fun. We'll be visiting again.
