Such a cool explanation of the ukulele manufacturing process and the materials used. Then Paka demonstrated a traditional Hawaiian song on one of the factory's ukes. It's so worth the time!
Very fun store to visit! Staff were all very friendly. The gift shop had a bunch of cute things.
I had a great experience here. People ready very friendly and thoughtful! When mentioned that it was my daughter's birthday, all staff members came out, grabbed an instrument, and gave my daughter an instrument and sang happy birthday to her. Her smile made my heart melt. Oh yes, I bought a great sounding Kanile'a Ukulele.
The store is a part of the Polynesian Cultural Center. The staff are courteous and knowledgeable about their products. Shout out to Terrie! She’s very friendly and you can tell she has a love for music. Lots of ukuleles made locally and abroad to choose from. There’s a gift shop at the far end of the store and on the other end is a section where you can see displays and history of how ukuleles are built and there’s also an area where you can get a free lesson. I joined the class. I had always thought of bringing home a ukulele each time I visited the Hawaiian islands. We went back another day and Terrie gave me a one on one lesson and helped me select the soprano ukulele that I took home. We went back one more time to visit with Terrie to be sure I selected the right uke for me. One other staff also jumped in and gave advice on the ukulele that I bought. Definitely a great place to start if you’re interested in buying a ukulele. A great ukulele experience indeed!
The staff and volunteers here are so lovely and helpful. They gave us a free Ukulele lessons and shared deep knowledge of the quality of the instruments available. I couldn't imagine a better experience as a beginner. Mahalo!
